OTTP and ZZP

ok.. well, this isnt another thread asking whats better blah blah.

ha basically i dont get what the hell ottp stage 2 is saying ha. it has a list of options to do.. first the heat exchanger. i say yes. then.. the belt option.. im confused by this. i dont want the oversized tensioner pulley and idk wat the gm stage 2 belt is ha. that confused me. and then it asks the pulley options.. now i want a 2.8.. i dont even get what this is asking me.. it has gm stage 2 individual pulley.. ok i dont have stage 2 gm so obv i want the m62 multi pulley system but wat size will all this stuff give me? im lost. and obviously i get everything else they are asking but that part just makes no sense to me. sorry if i sound stupid but ya. please answer. im trying to make the choice of spending 150 dollars less with ottp or the other and get the zzp kit. and one more thing. the ottp asks if u want the torque managment off? has anyone does that? if so wat have u noticed?

when you get this figured out, don't rely on the canned tune. get a real one.

I'm not familiar with SC, since I have a TC. Can't you do a basic search here (and on google) to familiarize yourself with the stage 1 and stage 2 upgrades. I know I could do this quite easily. Sounds like you need to get a basic understanding of these mods first.

ha no. i get wat each and every piece is but the stage 2 with ottp makes no sense to me. with zzp stage 3 i know exactly wat everything is and what its for. and i dont think searching would get me the answer im looking for.

Get:

2.8
GM stage 2 belt
raised rev limit
take off torque management (ZZP option)

and you're good. Get a real tune as soon as you can.

AH thank u ive been looking at for a place that actually tunes these cars around here. we'll see tho. ive heard really good things about that guy. and do they know these motors? and i just feel that the zzp stage 3 is easier than going the route of buying everything seperate. and cheaper

no, finding deals on here is cheaper. Just be patient. I bought all of my mods on here separately and saved quite nicely. Most were new.

If you have all those simple questions up top that you cannot answer yourself, maybe you should step back and do some simple research. Unless thats stupid and requires too much effort? I can easily see you back here in a month crying that you blew something up

hope that helps

The only benefit "cooling mods" will help is in back to back runs, and even then, i find that questionable. A simple heat exchanger isnt enough in my eyes. Personally, i'll be taking the meth route.

And i wasnt saying no to cooling mods for him, i was stating how he should order it from OTTP/ZZP in terms of options...which is what his original post was about.

Buy whatever size pulley you want. Then get a stage 2 belt and a set of used 60lb injectors. Then get it tuned properly locally. Don't waste your money on a "Stage" kit from any of the vendors. You're just going to end up getting a custom tune anyways, so you might as well just do it right the first time.

if you would like to efficiently run a 2.8 this is what I would suggest ( remember this is only MY suggestion, others may go slightly different routes )

3 inch intake
FMHE
Option B setup
Dual Pass Endplate
60# injectors with harness
header - badmab makes a great header for cheap
downpipe - im running a 2.5 inch, some may suggest 3" it depends who you talk to
Water/Methanol is optional. It wont hurt not to run it, if you do run it there are some gains to be had.
Catback again same thing. It wont hurt to not run it, if you do run it there is some gains to be had
A good dyno tune. Cannot stress this enough. Someone who knows what theyre doing. Canned tunes are garbage, most can agree on that, no matter who you get it from.

Also with these added mods if you dont already have a set of mounts I would suggest investing in some as youll more than likely be getting a fair share of wheel hop. Powell designed rotated mounts and I would personally go with either his design, or OTTP second.

Fred from SMG knows his ecotecs in and out. He had a 500+ HP 2.2 turboed in his drag cavalier, and has twincharged, turbo swapped, blower swapped, and built a ton of ecotec motors. From 2.0s to 2.2s to 2.4s. I would suggest going to him.

With these said mods and tune you should have a fun car to drive thats also running how it should with these modifications.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions ASK. The only stupid questions are the ones that arent asked

haha thanks man. but i miay have forgot to mention im basically half way there. i have a 3inch cold air intake and a full exhaust. bad mab header to a 3inch zzp catted downpipe, to a 2.5 adapter with a corsa touring catback. so basically its time for power now. and i need some ha. thanks for ur help man. but as far as the power mods i meant as far as the list. i know to eventually get engine mounts or tranny mounts, maybe axles, new clutch, but ya. i basically want the zzp stage 3 setup but everyones telling me to buy the parts seperately.
