So I had a total of four people yesterday try and race me. I don't know about you guys, I know a lot of you would probably be wishing for that but when it's happening almost every day it starts to get annoying.

First off my SS/SC is bone stock, no mods whatsoever done to it, but I'm guessing it's the high rise spoiler that attracts the ricers and idiots that try and race me, and over half the time are rolling in P.O.S's, and even LT, LS, and SS N/A coupes (no offense to any of you... )
but I'm sorry unless you guys threw on an after market turbo which I know someone wit a SS 2.4L with an aftermarket turbo that would spank me... it's pretty futile to even try, but that's not the point I'm getting to... (sorry for getting off topic)

For the most part I get a lot of positive attention, and complements, if I'm not getting stares or getting called gay at or even a "Ricer" by another Ricer, (that I hate the most)

My driving behavior isn't calling it out because I don't drive like a *****. I drive pretty conservatively with gas prices increasing, and I don't roll down my windows and blast music or anything like that either.

Lately it's just been getting annoying. Yeah those that challenge me or rev at me I'll race if we get caught at a light and rape them off the line up to like 45 or whatever the speed limit is and I'm done (got too many tickets when I first got her so I'm not looking to get any more...)

But yeah, yesterday it was a 2.3L Mazda 3 (not a mazdaspeed)... killed him
then a huge bald guy rolling in a LS Coupe with yellow tints, and a vinyl on the back window who looks speeds up to me and we both get caught at a light, I beat him by like 3 lengths up to 50mph then as I'm slowing down he speeds up to fly by me... wtf?
and then oh a POS Escort with a fart can revs at me speeds and passes me...
and as I'm a mile from home a two losers in a POS Riviera did the same....

All I know is that it's getting old, I'm not asking for it and it's starting to annoy me. Just venting and just wondering if anyone else feels that way...

 

Lol, the SS/SC's aren't unbeatable by any means, you make it sound like one of the fastest cars on the road. What do you do if a Mustang or newer Camaro challenges you? We don't hear about those races I guess, right? lol, just bugging you. Seriously though, I've seen SS/SC's in the lower 15's (1/4 mile) before due to bad driving, and a stock 2.4 can get those times.

 

put on a low spoiler, and take off the supercharged badges. the day i did that is the day people stopped trying to race me.

 

take the wing off, debadge it, throw some 20's on it, and limo tint the windows. they'll leave you alone.

 

dude, in my friggin ss sedan, I have ricers try to race me multiple times every day!! it's a goddamned sedan!!!!

 

had that problem when i first got my car... once i tinted the **** outta it people stopped even looking... guess they didnt like the complete black out

idk i rev at lot of people thats my way of getting peoples attention if i get next to you and rev at you its more of a "whats up" then "do you wanna race"

 

lol Oh i know it's not the fastest car. That's why I'm trying to get something faster when its lease expires (like a Solstice Coupe GXP). And Mustangs, Camaros, and mostly other cars don't really mess or pay attention to me which I prefer, it's the usual FWD, 4cyl ricer sub-compacts like Civics, Mazdaspeed 3's, Sentras, and other balts that do... Usually the ones that I know I could take on.

But yeah good suggestions, If I owned the car yeah I'd do some stuff to it. For some reason I like the high rise on the SS, but I guess then that comes with the territory right?

But a de-badge def sounds like something to solve that with deleting the wing.... Oh well I love the car and I got it for another 12 months so I'll just deal with it till then...

Ever try just ignoring the people revving at you? If you don't give in to them then they should take the hint and bugger off.

 

Lol thats like the other night I am on the way home from the bar at like 1AM and this wrx rolls up next to me and starts revving at me. I smile and just cruise along, there's no way in hell I want to draw attention to myself for possible DUI. He revs some more and speeds up a little then slows down to even up with me. Now he starts honking his horn a bunch like a ****** retard. Who in their right mind wants to race on a busy street at 1am right after leaving the bar?

 

I get people like that a lot but I just ignore them and they go away.

 

I had the same problem with idiots trying to race me... then I put on a lo-pro, and fly under the radar....

 

should see when i'm driving with my steelies on i had a guy last week walk past and say something to his friend like "look at the extra weight of the body kit. that's probably a high 16 second car" and i just have the stock ss/sc lips and skirts :

 

Yeah I totally ignore half the people anyways, and go about my own business.

But yeah, haha it's not only me then... It's funny because I have this friend who has a pretty nice 04 Jetta GLI, he's got it chipped, turbo inlet, exhaust, intake... and he always complains that nobody wants to race him... But I guess it's just how people perceive the car... Haha I told him I'd trade him...

i get a lot of the 16yo w/ $70k cars tryin to race me in woodward

 

i drive fast prob like an ass to most of u but i dont really race all the time and not always looking for a race but i do like to hit the hi speeds and alot of people just like to try to catch up and try to race me but i just like to drive going 100 plus 60 i will fall asleep and then it started where 80 wasn't fast enough now 100 plus swerveing thou traffic is enough to keep the adreniline(spelling) pumping and it keeps me awake i work 12 hours a day and have an hour drive so if i drive speed limit im tired and just fall asleep i wake up at 4 get on the road at 5 get there at 6 and work 12 hours then leave at 6 pm and get home at 7 sometimes 7 30 if theres a wrech or a train is going thou or something else happens but i have fell asleep at a red light b4 and dont remember several drive home's thats y i drive fast i stay awake lol

 

strap dead kittens and rub your own **** all over your car and people will stop trying to race you man. it works for me

Yeah, that's the weird part.... I hardly get anyone that tries to race me when I'm on Woodward, yeah I get looked at but on Friday and Saturday nights when I'm out there no one even looks my way. But I usually park and walk around the local hang outs.

 

I don't get why OP has a problem with 2.4's wanting to race him... stock vs stock is an extremely close race, especially if the 2.4 knows how to drive properly. Now that I finally have aftermarket rims/good summer tires I pull ahead of SC's until 4th gear where eventually they can catch up. But if its a stage 2 or anythign of that concern its not a race unless its a 16-17 year old dipshit who can't shift properly yet. But if it bugs you that much just go about your day and conserve gas and let people rip off line past you I guess? qq more
