Pioneer AVIC-Z1

I tried the audio portion of the forum but no help yet. i had the AVIC-z1 installed in my SS s/c but they could not get the sub to turn on. Also the rear speakers are very low. Any ideas anyone? It's just not the same with no bass.

x2....i had my Pioneer Z1 installed at Circuit City and the sound is like 10x better and louder than stock. Yea, it seems like the harness that they used may have been wrong....if you had one of ur friends install it because he said he knew what he was doing...then here in lies your problem. but if you spent well over 2g's for the thing, u should have 200 to have it professionally installed cuz that was a hell of a lot of wires and **** to hook up.

I have a Kenwood indash screen and I hooked it up and everything works fine. All the other RCA's have nothing to do with hooking up the stereo unless you have an aftermarket system. They should have just used the basic harness and wired it the same as a $80 deck. I am thinking, if it took them 3 hours, they did too much and screwed something up. It only took me a half hour to install mine.

I just want to say thank you for all of your input. Yes I am up in Hicksville around Ikea sometimes. Second of all the wiring harness came straight from Metra, the tech told me to use the XSVI-2103. Third of all the installer was A guy who Managed the Circuit City Roadshop in Westbury, Smithhaven, and Patchogue. A professional. The rear speakers and sub have power but extremely low volume. A tech @ Best Buy also looked over the wiring and found everything to be in order.

i got my car from robert chevy a couple of week ago and i saw maybe ur car outside of the dealership on that side road. its a 2.4 ss. hmm well i work at best buy and i used to install but im tryin to become a sup. and i did up my friends ss/sc. and at the time the harness wasnt even out. so i had to hook it up to the stock wiring. it worked so good. im not sure why this is happenin. u shud just be able to attach that deck onto the pioneer system and have no problems. ill take a look into it man. oh yeah im sean. i live in huntingon.

also is it the onstar metra harness or the regular harness
