Question Is this possible

I was wondering if it is possible to swap the steering wheel of an 05 cobalt to the new 3 spoke style with the volume controls. I thought it might not since GM probably changed the wiring or something else.

Realistically what I realy want to do is obtain a black steering wheel to redo my interior but I figured while im at it why not find out if I can get one with the volume controls...

Then I also wondered if I could get the new version (07-08) steering wheel. So this is how I got here.

I do have the premium pioneer system just not a 6cd changer. I searched but nothing on this topic so lets see what you guys got. Thanks.

pretty sure it will as long as new steering wheel comes with the airbag and the connectors are the same.

Thats what I was wondering; if the connections/wiring is different? Also if I would need anything else for the volume control on the steering wheel.

There is a GM mechanic that posts here occasionally that did this. It was so complex that he recommended that nobody ever try it again. Seriously. He got it to work perfectly. But it required access to GM dealerworld programming packages that no dealership is ever going to give or sell you.

For what instance? trying to go from the old to new version steering wheel or just trying to obtain a wheel with volume control?
