yeah he said that he photoshoped it.... maybe you didnt read it

that does looks nice but I'm guessing it would be pricey and probobly not good for the rims stability or whatver word works best there

I am sure you could get your rims machined to look like those, but it would probably be cheaper to just buy ones like that

that was my reason for asking that...the price issue. Do you really think that it would be cheaper to completely buy new rims? i thought it would be cheaper to get them cut down... the rims that i photoshopped are perfect, i just dont see the sense of buying completely new rims if you could make the best of what you got ya know?
ive heard of people doing this before, im just not too sure who i would contact or how much it costs, or anything like that.
this was just out of curiosity really, i like the stock rims just fine...also...whats up with this

^^^^^^^^^^^^ this SS right here!! whats up with these rims...they arent the stock rimsor maybe they were for the concept i duno these are what gave me the idea of choppin my rims ...just somthing that i niticed

The wheels of the Cobalt SS/SC as pictured at the top of the site are the pre-production wheels.

I'm sure its possible, go to a machine shop and ask if they cut wheels or if they could recommend someone.

I'm sure those wheels are cast aluminum, so machining material away would probably also take a lot away from the structural integrity of the wheel, especially as much as you photoshopped out. Would be a lot safer, and still probably cheaper, to just get 4 new ones.

Heck no you can't do that!! How on earth are they going to machine that? Do you really think a machine shop is going to write a CNC program to specially remove material from your wheel?????? HECK NO!

This is a heck no, terrible idea, never do it sort of thing. It doesn't matter if the wheel is cast, forged, or machined billet. I would NEVER just start removing material. Besides trying to balance the thing, you have no idea what the new capable loads are.

True, I agree. Considering the forces that are put them, you don't know how they are going to react.

i doubt a machine shop would do that for you. that is straight dangerous and if something happened they could get into deep stuff for doing those kids of things. it's just totally unsafe, forget about the money factor
