PRICE! help needed quickly!

i was just at my dealership and im just about ready to buy this 06 orange SS coupe. its pretty much loaded with sunroof and the 7 speaker pioneer system. they wanted 19725 or something on the sticker. they said it would be like 24 after the warranty and ****. eventually we got them down cuz my dad was talking to the sales manager and he know some people that he knew from the old neighborhood and stuff.

basically they are gonna give it to me for 306$ a month for 63 months. thats 0% financing and im 99% sure thats what im paying out the door with taxes and **** included. i worked it out and thats about 19278$ i think. is that a good price for this?

the only thing im worried about now is the insurance...i think it was gonna be around 344$ a month!! but we went there and they worked it out and gotta talk to my mom about what its gonna be.

Now is the time to buy, you have the right idea. As I speak, i am putting a down payment on a ss s/c w/G85. Got them down to $21,500, and i am gonna finance it for the whole 72 months, take the money that i was going to pay outright for it and put it into edward jones and make 8% a year, and end up paying only $17,200 for it all, if my math is correct, excluding taxes and licensing.
Explain that to your dad, and he might buy himself a cobalt as well!
Good idea, and i wish you luck!

I walked out he door with my SS/SC for $25,245 11.5% and that costs me $497/mo + insurance @ $436/mo I am paying $933/mo just to drive my car. You are getting a good deal, well compared to me anyway.

Not so hot, like gearhed said, you can get an SS/SC for not much more than that. I'd pay about $17,500 out the door for the N/A one max. If you can't afford the insurance on the SS N/A (which, BTW how old are you - $344 a month is REDICULOUS for that car!!!!!!!)

Forget the extended warranty. If you are like me you will end up modding the car and the extended warranty will be money wasted. Besides if you read what it really doesn't cover it's not so great anyways.

the extended warranty is bs
just get what the car comes with, dont get any rust protection, paint protection, or any other bs
19k seems like a good price
my ls sport is 174 a month, insurance is $400 a month
the bottom line is, will you be happy making the payments on the car? or will you cringe every month

Ok first, why are you putting $1500 down? If it is zero percent financing, then you are wasting your money that you put down. I am a salesman so i do know a little about buying cars. Why aren't you doing 72 months, it gives you a lower payment. it's not like there will ever be much negative equity in your car, because you are paying no interest, so take the 72 months.

amen and in a low crime area, my insurance (state farm) is only 500 every 6 months and i got the max limits and no deduct except 250 collision!!! you guys need to move
as far as the car goes....get the SS/SC, i would think for a couple grand mor and go the extra 9 months you will be ahead and happier in the long run!

Uhh yeah that makes a big difference. if it's SS/NA I'd say it sounds a little high to me. Fully Loaded an SS/NA can be had for under 18 before the down payment. 0% financing maybe, but it's really NOT 0%, not at that price anyway.

If you're a salesman than you know as soon as he drives it off the lot he's going to be in the hole for about 20% of what he paid for it. that's USUALLY what the down payment is for, to keep people from going upside down.

The price the gave you out the door is a good price. But with no money down you can get this car for about $270 on a 72 month term. The depreciation on this car wont catch up with yuo as bad since you are going to be saving about $4000 over the course of the term anyway, plus what if you wreck the car in like a month, then you just wasted your $1500, just save your money, put that money into savings and let it build for you, then pay the car off when you can.

As far as the insurance goes, most of you seem to be paying a lot. I use state farm and own a 2.2 cobalt and a 2.4 SS and my combined insurance is only $140 a month. I am only 21, maybe you should check so other places out, that seems really high for a cobalt.
