Proper way to remove grill inserts?

I'm putting in fog lights in my LT and when I went to remove the grill inserts I just used a flathead and pried em out, but it ended up tearing up my paint. Is there a "right" way to take these things out? maybe push em out from the inside of the bumper?

Any help appreciated

pull out the headlights and headlight bracket then you will be able to access the backside of the foglight. you could probably push them out from the back? I don't have an LT so I dont know for sure.

idk if ur talking about the inserts only the lt's have but the main grille (where the bowtie is) is only held in by the tabs so i just get it from behind the grille. kind of a pain in the ass and u do need to remove the bowtie with 2 10mm bolts. but i just undo the tabs by hand.

They are held in by small plastic tabs. You run the risk of snapping them in you are not careful. They are pretty weak
