A question about insurance
A question about insurance
Can anyone tell me why the insurance rate on Cobalt's are so high? Does it have anything to do with how easily they are to break into, or do they crumple up like an accordian in an accident, or what?
And yes, I know there are several factors including the driver's age and the usage of the vehicle, so on and so forth.

depends which cobalt you're talking about. the super or turbo cobalt is a performance oriented car, and cobalts in general have a target market of teenagers and men in their early 20's. who has the highest level off accidents? teens and men in their early 20's. lots of old people buy base models because their cheap, but that's not who gm designed the car for.
2,000 is not that bad depending on your age and where you live. when i got my first cobalt, which was a base model, i was at around 5,000. now i pay about 1600 for my ss/sc.
yea, welcome to new jersey. a million dollar house in my area is less than 200,000 in other parts of the country and you get more land too. we get raped in the "corn hole" on pretty much everything here. even worse when you go a few minutes east to nyc.
yeah, i know. i have family in hackettstown. what insurance company do you have?...i have citizens
Hah,i have changed providers 3 times in a year now.I don't believe in loyalty to any company after my experiences so far.I am with state farm now,and i hope they mean all they have said to me so far.Maybe i don't have to play this game like the stock market anymore...it's ridiculous.
i don't think so. companies give you more and more discounts the longer you stay with them. you're probably seeing the rates get lower as you get older, because in the companies eyes the older you get the less risk you are.
Five years ago...yeah...
Most of the mega insurance companies undercut one another...say you have Geico now, call up Progressive and tell them that...I may switch to Allstate next...usually works for a few years, but car insurance companies are starting to look further and further back at records...and it sucks.
If I was with Geico Kev, I would still be paying for tickets I got when I was 18.

3180...for 23 with two 'no point moving violations' in the past six months...not too shabby
