Recaros in LS

I just bought a set of ION Recaros for my LS. Has anyone else done this swap? What about the passenger's seat air bag sensor?

What about it? Does the seat you bought have one? If not, you have a problem. You would need to bypass the switch so the airbag is always on.

The Recaros don't have the pass air bag sensor. I just wondered if anyone had transfered the sensor from the LS seat to the Recaro. It also looks like the LS pass seat has a plate between the seat track and cushion.

unbolt the bottom part that supports the cushion from your LS (the piece with the springs and the sensor, should have 4 screws holding it in), pull the whole bottom piece out, remove the cushion, use the bottom part with the springs (and the sensor) for the recaros. thats what i did when i put SS seats into my 2.4.

So basicly you're just swapping the entire piece out.

It will physically fit. Transferring the seat sensor isn't feasible. You would have to reupholster it.

Update

Well, I got the Recaros installed and man are they an improvement over the base LS seats. Also, I was able to transfer all the airbag hardware to the passenger side Recaro, and works just like stock.

I installed Recaros in my LS last weekend. Now eveytime I turn the car on, it tells me to service airbag. This weekend I guess I'll be swapping out that piece so I won't have that airbag light on anymore. Thanks for the help!

I started a How-To over the weekend, until I came across the airbag sensor confusion. I'll finish it tonight with more pics.
