Red SS at Island Dragway
Red SS at Island Dragway
I was hanging out at Island Drag way in Jersey and saw a red cobalt making runs.
He didn't do too bad. His first launch looked like he had some traction issues but he got better each time. The best time I saw for it was a 15.5. I was hoping for something in the 14s, but I don't know if he was just going easy on it. I don't believe he was warming up the tires either, so that would lead to some big traction, and time loss.
I wanted to say hey and that it was nice to see another Cobalt but I didn't get a chance.

I can easily see a careful or inexperienced driver running high 14's low 15's in these cars.
You need to know how to drive these things to get there 100% potential.
Or
You need to have the slightest care and beat the living hell out of it time and time again waiting for that purfect run.
I have ran high 14's in my Camaro SS and 15's in my LT1's and Mustang GT. Even the almighty SRT-4 will be in the high 14's low 15's.

They all ran pretty good. The Camaro was running 13's and had a beautiful sound to it!
The GT's varied, some stock some not mostly in the 14's
The SRT4 won a lot of races and ran 14's to high 13's.

Hey man I live in that area!!
Island Dragway is about 500ft down the road from where I work, perhaps you've been in Nykun's Store??
I've been to Island a few times, the guy who owns it (Tony) always comes into my work.
Do you have an SS S/C yourself?? Next time your in the area, stop by the store if you get a chance - it'd be nice to meet another CobaltSS.net member

I never saw 3 grand nationals in once place like that either
Anyway, I'll definately go there again some friday night. If you want, you can add me to your buddylist on AIM, I'm Horision.

I think I was the only one excited when I looked at the track and said... "holey crap is that a grand national?!?"
