redlining your car

So today on my way home i pulled up to a black SS. We didn't get to race because it was bumber to bumber but he kept reving his car up tell it made the super charger like skip or something. I just want to know if that is good or not? I know its not good to red line any car but can someone tell me more about it?

just a rev limiter, hitting it occasionally won't hurt but bouncing on it on a consistent basis will

Isn't it a fuel cutoff in our cars? If so, it's bad to hit it repeatedly like a ricer

i don't know why you even care if it was his car or not, this is something i'm curious about myself and i think he's credible in asking the question.

Now are you going to say i screwed up my car too?? just cause i want to know what it'll do?

oh hers the deal our cars are good to 7300rpms for a short time. But sitting on the fuel cut out/rev limiter is bad because our cars have some sort of interfearnce issue with the oil pump. Also the timing chain tentioner is not happy ither.

Moral of the story redline is fine on these cars but sitting on it for more than a Minute = B OOM

Also i shift at 6950 just shy of the fuel cut off andwhen i realy nned to i power shift it to get it to jump to 7200.

You could drop a valve for one. We only have single springs, so they are vulnerable. Dropping a valve would eat your piston F up your cylinder sleeve and damage the head. It could also stress the crank and damage your main bearings as well. Heat is another factor of redlining your car, too hot = very bad. Basically, if you do this often, look forward to catastrophic failure.

Bouncing the rev limiter here or there is okay. Repeated bouncing like a novice is not good!
