Release Date for Cobalt!
Now I know ever dealership is different and they tend to lie, But in Riverside county, CA they are telling everyone that the SS supercharger will be at the dealerships in Nov. and that the sadan's and the ss will be out in Feb. Who knows but thats what they say. I dont know who to believe anymore. Just wanted to make you aware.

LMAO!
Although the dealers try to be as useful as possible, they are not well informed about the Cobalt as of yet. My local dealer is very friendly and I have established a contact that will let me know as they get more info. But as of Saturday they dont even have a brochure!

i read it somewhere in here, sedans will start oct 18th, coupes nov 4th, the supercharged in feb, and the regular SS will be june as an '06... i think alot of people, dealers included r confusing the supercharged ss with the normal ss... i don't know y they gave 2 different cars the same name...

GM rarely lets dealerships know any product or timeline information that isn't available to everybody else. Really, the only thing I learned extra about the Cobalt from working at a dealership was the specifics on the stereo. Everything else can be found faster on the internet.

what did u find out about the stereo? all i saw was that it has a 6 channel amp powering 7 speakers... how does that add up?? it has 2 tweeters, 4 woofers and a subwoofer... how r they dividing 6 channels into that? and i hope they carpet the sub, it looked bare plastic in those trunk pics... we have a hyundai tiburon gt at work, and it has a nice carpeted sub built in to the trunk...

The stereo is a 228watt Pioneer system, which is pretty good quality and wattage given what it's competition has. The Scion tC has a Pioneer system (so I thought that they'd be the same) but it's only 160watt. The rear sub is a 10", that's all that I know about it other then the picture we all saw about the SEMA Cobalt sedan. Overall though, thats a pretty darn good factory stereo, especially since it's already included with the car, and not an extra-cost option like on most others.
