There used to be a weight reduction thread... but it seems to have been deleted.

Fluids are heavy, make sure you drain your gasoline, coolant, motor oil and tranny oil!

There are four bolts holding on the bracket for the back seats, two in the center and one on each side (a bitch to get to)

There are two clips holding in the back seat pad. Push the pad toward the trunk HARD, then lift up and it should pop out.

There are two bolts holding in the passenger seat below those little covers in the back seat footwell. Unbolt those and the seat comes right out.

The sparetire/jack is held in by one bolt in the center

Run Stage 3 ECU permanently and rip out the A/C. I bet there's at least 100lb in there.

dude I suggest you take out the back seats, but leave the bar there, it acts as kind of a mid-body swaybar, and me taking that out in my last race is what probably caused my stock suspension to be even more crappy. If you have any question as to how to take things out, i've pretty much removed anything and everything in these cars.....

Glovebox...take it out completely, in the back the spare tire cover, the tire the jack, the padding. In the back seats, well the back seats, I removed the seatbelts too that were bolted to the bottom.....I figured every little bit helps....passenger seat, console, engine bay cover and PCM cover.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a quick Q for the autoXers here, our cobalts can come from the factory with 15, 16, 17, or 18 inch wheels....my car came with 15s, but technically if I upgrade to 16s like i have....it can still be counted as a stock wheel size...right?
