Removing XM Antenna?

So... after my recent de-badging fest (back bowtie and GM emblems now gone) I'd like to remove the XM antenna on the roof. Is it just stuck on too, or are there wires?

I didn't renew XM after the 3 month free trial... and I don't plan on it... I've never been a fan of paying for music... and XM didn't have any channels that I absolutely loved enough to pay the fee for.

Any help out there?

I believe there is a hole in the roof where the wire comes in. If your gonna remove it your gonna have to fill and most likely repaint that part of the car.

Obviously there are wires, lol. I think it is stuck on lightly, when I wash the car it wiggles and moves quite easily.

Hmm, well has anyone taken it off to see how big off a hole it is? I didn't care for XM either, would be nice to get the antenna off, and once onstar is gone get that off too and repaint the roof..

You have to drop the head liner and remove the XM antenna from the inside. There will be a nice hole in the roof when your done.

Wow. What a pain in the ass. I'm glad I bought mine afterwards and not factory.
I guess this is a word of caution to those ordering their new cars.

It's pretty small... it just annoys me... I hate excessive useless bad looking plastic stuff...

as soon as I can find a decent black metal grille... that'll be the next crappy plastic to go.
