Rev hang!!
Just drop the clutch, be on the gas when you do so you don't feel it jerk, 1st to 2nd I just honk on it and finish the pull through second. I'll wait for the revs to drop from 2nd to 3rd cause I'm already up to speed and dun care

In fact, I had a Fusion honk at me awhile we were approaching an on-ramp...
It seems like the only way around this is to almost completely wail on 1st gear (close in on the person in front of you, quickly), and utilize the decelleration "shift gap" to bring you back to a safe distance - and within pace - of everyone else.
Slushies get dangerously close to my rear bumper as a result of waiting for the RPMs to drop.

there is no problem with taking the revs up to 3.5-4k in first. if you do that, the revs drop faster, and you get into 2nd quicker. most people dont advise it because people usually arent skilled with the throttle enough and end up making the car rock back and forth or making the car accellerate too fast. if you can do this smoothly, then it makes for much better shifts into 2nd under normal city driving. just dont give it too much throttle. bringing it up to 3.5-4k doesnt mean you have to gun it, and it doesnt hurt a thing.
Turning on the A/C will help the revs drop much faster. Also a lightweight flywheel makes the revs hang longer. Less rotating mass = easier to spin = Keeps spinning longer with less effort.

i'm not sure this is what you mean by rev hang but when it's cold out my LS high idles at times when creeping to stop signs or red lights, after the clutch goes in it hangs at about 1200/1300 for maybe a second or 2 and then finally drops back down to about normal idle around 800 or so... warm weather it doesn't do it and the only way i realize it happens in cold weather is because of the difference in exhaust notes
Is it your CC switch? i know when mine went it would hang between every gear. it was the top of travel clutch switch. i am, however in an SS/NA, not sure if there is a difference
