I know how to drive stick but don't find it useful for me unless it's a performance based vehicle which this is not

i disagree. for a NA 4 cylinder passenger car, the 2.4 is VERY performance based. it's more like a hot hatch... that's not...a hatch. ANYWAYS, i think that it's a very well balanced car that's sportier than most while still having all of the driveablity and fuel savings that a normal car offers.

as far as the old auto/manual debate, i have this hatred of automatics that runs deep... must be the ricer in me or something. but i'd say it's more important in underpowered cars than anything else... ever drive an automatic geo metro?

let me put it to you this way....get into a GTO and drive that for a little while, and then get into a 2.4 cobalt and let me know how performance based it really is....lol That's the only way I can put it.

Anyway, I don't get joy into trying to make my 15 second car that quick. It is my daily driver and Jersey traffic blows my *****

i've driven a GTO, it's a god damn monster. and for that kind of car, it's badass, i'm just saying that there are different kinds of performance cars. folks tell me that my 320i isn't a performance car because it's only 115hp. i mention that it's 2300 lbs, rear drive, manual everything and can be easily steered with a little throttle and prayer. just a differend kind of car. maybe i'm unamerican or something, but most modern V8s don't do it for me. big power, sure, but most of the cars they're in need some serious updating otherwise (GTO was the exception, those were pretty advanced and good looking till they added those fugly hood scoops and "GTO" in three inch letters on the back).

fair enough. my only point is that being the faster doesn't make something "higher performance". there are a lot of us that like smaller, lighter cars. hell my dream is a shelby cobra 289 or an old lotus 7.

I tried it with the shifter in Low to turn the traction control off and it roasts the tires pretty good this way. This is what I was looking for, thanks everybody for the info.

I just put it in low, it'll peel decent. I know its got some kind of nanny control in it cause when u hold the brake and floor it, it only revs to 2 grand so u cant sit there and do a burnout with it...same goes for when the ebrake is on.

Wahhhh? The hood scoops look badass. They make it look more like a real GTO. As far as handling, any of the later F-bodies handle awesome.
