Running Rich

Well got my UEGO gauge and zzp tensinor installed last night and did a few run's tonight..car pulls harder with the adjustable tensinor, also i decided to put the s2 pulley on since my 2.9 got damaged when my buddy was taken it off,so its kinda messed up...anyways..2nd gear afr is 11.3-11.6 and 3rd,4th,5th 10.4-10.7...car run's rich top end even at 130+..so a 2.85" on s2 tune would lean it out on top end,and wont be maxing out injectors..weather is about 30ish degress

from what ive heard, thats about normal on a stage 2 reflash. most tuners shoot for 11.5 under boost. gm riches it up further to help controll combustion chamber temps under long hard throttle pulls like you see in 3rd 4th and 5th.

so thats a sign that a smaller pulley than the s2 will help lean out the car,and boost more power

11.5-12.0 is normal. make sure your wideband is reading correctly. 11.5 is where you want to be. Dont be to lean though and ruin your motor.

only reason i got the gauge is cuz cars been to dealer 5-6 times and they keep tellin me cars running lean (p0171)..so i got pissed off and tired of all the b/s and went and bout a uego gauge, and looks like its the opposite, plus rich is better than lean..

every car is different....thats the problem with this "universal tune" bs. Your afrs aren't going to be the same for everyone with the same tune.

Based on everyones cars are stage 2 only, GM made the tune generic. They made it to be a little rich for safety purposes. They took into consideration temp, elevation, and climate. They know that everyone that will be purchasing the stage 2 kits live in different climates. Yes, the tune can be made custom to make your car run better, but that is totally up to you. the stage 2 tune had to be generic for everyone so the warranty could be kept.

Yeah until you clog your cat from running too rich.Theres a software update to fix the P0171 code.Did you get it done yet?
