i didn't have time to snap a pic but it caught me off guard! it was not an SS though... but still seeing a cobalt cop car was still enough to make me do a double take haha
it was spotted in Halifax NS Canada.

I remember a thread that had a link on it to another forum where the cops were all talking about how a Cobalt SS ran from them and lost them, and they were all freaking out about how they all wanted new/upgraded patrol cars, since "even a Cobalt can get away from [them]".
It happened in Ennis, TX if I remember right.

Well some areas make the cops buy their own cars, so maybe the guy just wanted to go cheap and pocket the rest or something.
It also makes for some cool cars though. I've been tuning a Camaro Interceptor for a local department. It's blacked out with ghost writing on the side. It's completely tricked out on the inside, with a monitor panel that folds out of the ceiling on the passenger side and stuff like that. It's very cool. He's done a very tasteful job with it IMO. He says some people go blasting past him without noticing he's a cop though. lol He said one old man in a Corvette thought he was wanting to run him when he came along side and had him until he put on the lights and pulled him over. lol He said he let the guy off with a warning though because he felt like he kinda started it with the guy.

Are you sure the Cobalt "cop car" was infact a cop car? We have a couple (well probably HAD) Cavaliers in some city fleet, but I think they were just patrolling and not for much of anything. If I saw a set of Cobalt lights in my rear-view with a light bar I would never pull over. I've seen Cops. They rape people that way!
ya the giant POLICE signs and phone numbers, and typical cop car badging kinda gave it away... had the same designs as this... i wouldn't start a thread about seeing a cobalt police car if i wasn't sure it was in fact a police car..
haha it WAS silly .. obviously not a high speed pursuit car... but i'm assuming it has it's purpose.. either way... i wouldn't look twice at a cobalt thinking it was a cop... hell i stared right at it sitting at the light and had no idea it was a cop car until it turned and i saw the sides..
lol wouldn't that make ya ****... i knew a local police force back home that had a 4 door turbo sentra used as a highway pursuit car.. i don't know what you would do when you caught up to the offender... but it was still cool to see back in the day! i still have no idea where it came from.. probably donated but i'd like to know who did the work..
