However, the 2007 production figures will not be out until the end of the year.
The numbers just dont match up. One or the other is WAY off

The 160 and 260 thousand numbers are TOTAL production, of all types. Remember, the vast majority of Cobalts are LS and LT models.

BadBlueSS you are the man!!!!

I just got my call back from GM and she said the SS breakdowns are not yet available, nor is the color breakdowns
I said "I think thats funny because another club member was able to get them from GM". She was kinda speechless. I also said "and don't you find it funny that someone else at GM was able to get this" ...
anyways, back pedal, deny, back pedal....

BadBlueSS I'm glad you were able to get what you got! She told me to call back at a later time and the info might then be available... so, let's keep on GM to release the color breakdowns too!

she gave me the same overall figures EDUBS (props to you too)had gotten... good work fellas we got somewhere in one day

so at this point the 06' SS sedan is the rarest

I am thinking that those numbers represent cars produced during the actual calendar year, not the model year. Those "2004" SS/SCs are actually '05s, and similarly the "2005" SS sedans are actually '06s. It would have been better if they had listed everything by model year instead, but maybe they don't have it broken down like that.

2004 1AP37 - Chevrolet Cobalt Hi Perf Sport Coupe 36
2005 1AM37 - Chevrolet Cobalt SS Coupe 7056
2005 1AM69 - Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan 3252
2005 1AP37 - Chevrolet Cobalt Hi Perf Sport Coupe 7799
2006 1AM37 - Chevrolet Cobalt SS Coupe 7402
2006 1AM69 - Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan 2221
2006 1AP37 - Chevrolet Cobalt Hi Perf Sport Coupe 6991
Here's what I find most interesting, and it supports my theory that the SS and SS/SC production is a very small segment of total Cobalt production. Out of a total of 421,610 Cobalts produced from 2004-2006, 3.5% were SS/SCs and 4.7% were SS coupes and sedans. The other 91.8% are 2.2s! (I had been guessing there might be maybe 5% 2.0s and 5% 2.4s).

contact GM at the e-mail address JonyB provided and see if you can get some answers

2006 1AP37 - Chevrolet Cobalt Hi Perf Sport Coupe 6991
I have an 06' so I'm going to speculate that the 6991 went to all 50 states in equal amounts (I know thats not the case) = roughly 139 2006 SC's per state
and if 6 colors were available for the SC in equal amounts = 139/6 = 23 of each color per state
and that does not include Canada... so the # is actually lower, but somewhere in that range

I’ guessing the 36 2004’s are car show demo cars used to promote the Cobalt before it was in production late 2005 (November for the regular Cobalt, even later for the SS/SC to be exact)

Keep up the good work guys, Hope someone form Lordstown can contribute

Typically though, there is one or two colors which are made in far fewer numbers than the others, while some like black might be 1/3 of the total. (Rest assured, that's probably not the case with your color) That's why getting the complete color breakdown will be most helpful.
