seven year olds and painting cobalts

my buddy drops by today(has an torrent) Im telling him there is no touch up paint out yet for streakblue cobalts, and how I want to paint my trunk keyhole, well he tells me he has his touchup paint which happens to be arrival blue. I tell him no thanks I will just wait for mine to come out, well while we were in the house his seven year old thought he would do me a favour and paint the keyhole cover for me. ten minutes later he comes running into the house telling me what he did for me, well Iam horrified, I run outside to se the damage and to my amasement he did pretty good job, still going to wait for my touchup paint to come out and go over it.

Hahaha, that's pretty funny!

Can't really blame a kid for trying to be helpful.

Yea, it was a good job (by a 7-yr.-old!). Too bad the paint doesn't match. Buy him a Happy Meal for his effort .

Yea, don't be mad at the kid. He was just trying to help. i have a 7 yr old son, and he's always trying to be "helpful" (a.k.a. destroying things). Appreciate it now, cuz when they're teens, you're gonna wish they would help you with anything.

when I reacted to him doing this that was exactly what I was thinking, that it would be all over the paint, the piture does not do it justice, it actually looks better than that. I was going to buy those caps everyone is waiting for but I"m just going to fix it a bit and go with painting it.

That kids job is great. Tell his dad that he is a natural and likely has a future as a body man or tradesman (painter)

I read this and started to cringe, but that kid did a damn good job. Very impressive.

So how much does he charge?

this thread is amusing me, I told his dad to tell him what everyone thought of his handywork, and his dad says, that he is preety proud of hisself, I told his dad I will leave it till my colour code comes in and i'll touch it up.

So your telling me this seven year old taped off the keyhole and then actually had access to paint that would actually be able to stick to metal?? None the less paint close enough to the body color?? Im confused. Or did he use your friends Arrival Blue paint?
