You know i still to this day have yet to ever go to a shell station.

Anyway I would just continue to use it everytime you fill up.

i always use V-power. Only twice has my car had other. One was QT gas, which is awesome, and my wife violated my car and put 89 oct in it without telling me until the next day lol. She knew I was going to kick her ass.

Mobil or B&P is ok. But use whatever. I get the luxury of having 93/94 octane in Michigan

I don't think you can over clean. I only use QT gas, but that's because it is top tier rated and is not even a 1/4 mile from my house. You should be fine. If I remember right Shell is also top tier rated.

They have a sunoco with 94 pretty much down the block from me, I can't wait. Does anyone know if they have a credit card? One of those deals where you get like 2% back on gas or something?

Quiktrip rules. But my parents are weird. My stepdad fills gas cans up from work and dumps them in the truck. And it clogs the filter up something fierce. He sees no point in pre-filtering.

It has nothing to do with Shells marketing team. Shell is the only Top Tier gas station near me so I go there.

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is a new class of gasoline with enhanced detergency. It meets new, voluntary deposit control standards developed by four automotive companies that exceed the detergent requirements imposed by the EPA.

Who developed TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards?
TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards were developed by four automotive companies: BMW, General Motors, Honda and Toyota.

Why was TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline developed?
TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline was developed to increase the level of detergent additive in gasoline. The EPA requires that all gasoline sold in the U.S. contain a detergent additive. However, the requirement is minimal and in many cases, is not sufficient to keep engines clean. In order to meet TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards, a higher level of detergent is needed than what is required by the EPA. Also, TOP TIER was developed to give fuel marketers the opportunity to differentiate their product.

Why did the four automotive companies join together to develop TOP TIER?
All four corporations recognized the benefits to both the vehicle and the consumer. Also, joining together emphasized that low detergency is an issue of concern to several automotive companies.

What are the benefits of TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline?
TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline will help keep engines cleaner than gasoline containing the "Lowest Additive Concentration" set by the EPA. Clean engines help provide optimal fuel economy and performance and reduced emissions. Also, use of TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline will help reduce deposit related concerns.

Who should use TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline?
All vehicles will benefit from using TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline over gasoline containing the "Lowest Additive Concentration" set by the EPA. Those vehicles that have experienced deposit related concerns may especially benefit from use of TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.

Where can TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline be purchased?
The TOP TIER program began on May 3, 2004. Chevron (US and Canada), QuikTrip, ConocoPhillips, Shell, and Entec Stations, Inc. have met the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards and are offering this product in all octane grades and in all their respective marketing areas.

There is no shell station around me to my knowledge. I use Citgo which is just down the road and fill up with 94.

Shell claims to have MORE detergents than even the other top tier carriers. I guess that's what attracts people. But, it is true that I have not seen proof of that. anyone have a link to an article that tells us exactly what and how much detergents V-power has?

I use sunoco 93 octaine gas. Sunoco arround here (I was there about 40 minutes ago)

2.73 for 87
2.83 for 89
2.94 for 91
2.95 for 93

Its crappy prices but oh well. The Exxons and Mobils etc are usually about 3.15+ for 93, so I stay away from them. Texaco / Shell are the same they are expensive for V power.

by the way guys
if you dont have the SS, you should use 87 octane
not premium or V power

your car is tuned for 87 octane, putting higher octane in will actually hurt performance
check your owner's manual if you dont believe me

I use V-Power as well whenever I can. I seem to squeak out an extra 1-2mpg everytime as opposed to the other shitty stations in my daily travel route.

I don't know what manual you are reading, but mine states to use 87 or higher octane. For the SS S/C to use 91 for max. performance, but 87 or 89 could be used with noticable performance loss. (I notice a little decrease in power with the 87) It says that anything less than 87 could damage the engine if it preignited or "pinged".
