Shift knob question

I'm looking to replace the shift knob in my '10 ss/tc and I was wondering if this would work?

Shift Knob Black Billiard With "SS" Logo - Eckler's Late Great Chevy Parts

It will probably fit, I'm just wondering about the reverse lock, will I lose that or? Anyone else know of a shift knob with the SS logo on it, that WILL work with the reverse lock?
Thanks

I dont think the stock shifter is threaded.. so no..

but I'm pretty sure theres an adapter or piece you can use to make it work..

I think it was TWM that offered a shift knob(1 of their hybrid ones I think...) that'll fit the stock shifter with an adapter they provide.. looks purdy fly 2

We have a whole line-up of Shift Knobs for the SS, but unfortunately they'll only fit with a Short Shifter like ours. Here's a link in case your interested...pretty much the whole forums can vouch for the benefits of our Short Shifter upgrade for the SS

If you want something really cool, get the TWM sts with weighted knob, bushings and clamp. I know it is a lot of money, but you wont regret it. The best products are priced accordingly. TWM has all the pros and not even 1 con. It is the only company of sts that combine beauty, quality: look, quality, precision in shifting and the feel that you are driving a Porsche when you shift. It is something that once you buy it, it will last you a life time because of the quality. I have this full assembly on one of my Cobalt SS, and by the spring season I will get the same assembly for my other Cobalt SS. I never spent my money better than when I bought the full TWM assembly.

The stock *** is actually a spline, its not threaded so NO aftermarket knobs will work unless you get a short throw shifter.

On that note, TWM is a great shifter.

Anytime dude! I appreciate that you thank me, but really you should thank yourself because I'm just saying the truth. All the other brands making sts, are worth less than the stock. Yours is the only real sts on the market.

You won't believe it what kind of improvement you will feel. I can tell you that when I got my TWM, sometimes I didn't mind to be in traffic just for the reason that I could shift oftern

Damn, was hoping to not have to do that lol. Well that part of the project's going on the ol' backburner haha

Its not that I don't want it, I just have different things I'd like to spend 150+ dollars on like GMPP exhaust.

I have a full setup from TWM with the Big Type R shift knob. It's worth the money if you ask me, the weight of it makes the shifting super smooth.

Wouldn't those knockoff (maybe legit) Momo shift knobs work? I just put one in the GF's prelude, and they use 3 set screws to lock the shifter to the shaft. It comes with three different sized rubber "bushings" for different sized shafts, tapered, etc. Worked friggin sweet on her prelude!! I can't see why it wouldn't work on the Balt's splined shaft!

$40 at Pacific Mall

The bottom ring (says MOMO Italy you can see good in the 2nd pic) threads off to reveal the set screws.

Was a lot shorter (i.e. the shifter shaft goes right to the top of the knob) and she liked the "short shifter" feel much better.

The feel of quality is what makes it worth it for me. The shifter is something you interact with a ton when you are driving so you want it to have a good feel.

The TWM STS is very high quality. The shifts are quick and precise and the feel/appearance of the weighted knob is excellent. This is one of the very few mods I have done to my car that does not have any downside. It is a huge improvement over stock and worth every penny.

For about $150 you can get the hurst shifter. I just can't see spending $400+ on a shifter plus $70+ for a damn knob. I saw some last weekend at a dyno meet and they sit higher then stock, was told it's not worth the price.....just too much coin when I could use it for go fast parts insted

What??????? Then, either you misunderstood, or it wasn't installed properly, or just it wasn't a TWM. It is the only mod that I don't regret spending money for.
Besides, it is $ 290 including the bushings, and $ 80 for the knob. Way worth the money

I didn't misunderstand. I was told it's taller then the stock one and yeah it shifts nice but it wasn't worth the $. Thats not my opinion, i never used one before and I do want to see for myself....just saying.

Ok, got it. But I can tell you, I have it, and my buddy has it. Both they are at least 1 inch, if not more, lower than stock

You can get a extension if needed/wanted. All gates are well pronounced and it looks like sex. Little shrinkage holding my ball so far, lol, but it is worth it. They have composite knobs too if you don't enjoy your hand sticking to the shifter ( think tongue + cold object) just kidding, haha, but when it gets to -20 to -40+ that might happen!

I agree. Also, a carbon fiber knob. Maybe we can ask extreme dimension? They are asking us what we would like them to make

This guy says he will make knobs with any thread pitch so I imagine he can make one that is a pressure fit for ours.
