Shift knob removal

Shift knob removal

Hey guys i just bought my shiftbook from redline goods and i was trying to install it but i ran into a few problems. I removed the top cap from the know and then removed the screw thats in there but i cant seem to take out the knob. Can anyone tell me how to take off the knob so i can replace the shift boot please and thank you.

remove shift pattern plate....remove torx bolt......pull like a mother, it will come off

Yea i removed the shift pattern plate and the screw and do i pull up or what????

Pull on the knob!! As hard as you can its a pain but it will come off sooner or later

ok cool but if i pull off the knob is it gonna ruin anything? cause the way they come that u have to lift up the thing to go in reverse?

Take shifter out, tighten into vise, use a block of wood and a mallet to knock it off. I was installing my short throw though so idk if you are taking it all apart or not.

Take two flathead screwdrivers, and wedge them under the shift knob *but on top of the plastic retaining ring*, and like the others said, pull like a lonely 12yr old boy. Be careful not to crack or break those plastic rings underneath, as I am sure you will need them intact for re-install.

so just take the 2 flatheads and just wedge them under just the knob right not the rings where u lift to put it in reverse
