Shift Up light and SHift Light are two diff lights, as said before.
My SHift Light comes on at about 6800. its a gear with a plus symbol in the middle, in the upper left corner outside the Tach, next to the fuel gauge.

Recommendation/Instructions:
The above mentioned export vehicles are built without a shift indicator lamp. On U.S. models, the shift indicator lamp is used as a confirmation to the driver that the ECM has been switched to 100 octane mode. Export models can be switched to 100 octane mode but there will not be an indication to the driver.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

In a nutshell, us Canadian SS/SC or Ion Redline owners have no access what so ever for a shiftlight to illuminate to let us know we are in highoctane mode.
Here is the email I got from GMPP/CED a while back.
"We don't have a way to provide visual indication of the high-octane mode to Canadian customers.
Since the lamp command is done over GMLAN, it is not possible for the customer to hardwire in an external lamp or force the function of the in-dash lamp (if present). The SIL command status is not an available parameter on the Tech II data list so a scan tool cannot be used to monitor the lamp command status.
I believe that the parts group will add a note to the Instruction sheet and write a dealer bulletin (PI) to alert the field that this is a normal condition for Canadian vehicles"

found this on OCC, thought it might be helpful?
The Raptor shift light has been a hit with the late model, distributor-less engines while still working well with old points type ignitions. It's ease of use, compact size, and the fact that no rpm converters or adaptors are required, has allowed it to become the most popular shift light on the market today!
