So its time I let her go

So with todays economy and me losing my job, I've come to the reality setting that I just can not keep my Cobalt SS S/C. I was paying 497.12 a month for it and I could afford it. Well I used up all my savings in trying to keep the car thinking and hoping I could get another job, but I failed. I 'm goign to mess my credit up bad by keeping the car since I have no more money to pay for it.

So I was thinking of just getting an SRT4. Something with a Mopar wastegate for show and thats it. Its about 10k around me, and I can def Budget that and my parents can help me out with that as well.

So its official...the Nightmare SS is going bye bye.

Really gets me upset because this was my first car and I really loved it. =/
Well you gotta do what you gotta do you know. =/

Sorry to hear you've fallen on hard times. good luck with financing after the repo. I've been there. you may find out that getting into a new loan may not be all that easy.

Well I'm trading the Cobalt for a SRT4. I got the cobalt in 2007 of may and it WAS worth 19k when i kbb it. Well Ever since this **** happened with GM and their stocks fell the cobalt went from 19k to 10-13k. So Im paying 22k for this car when its worth like 11k. Its really not worth it. I love Chevys. I really do but they can't hold their value. So I'm thinking either the SRT4 or a Civic in the mean time till I get back on my feet.

HAHA a 2007ss/sc hasn't been worth 19k since..well..the day you drove it off the lot brand new in 2007..

GM issues have not impacted resale value

well when i kbb it in 07 it was 19k. and now its nowhere near that.

And GM issues does impact its resale. It simply doesn't hold its value. Its really not worth it anymore.

so if the cobalt is only worth 10k now and the srt4 is 10k to buy, how the hell are u saving any money? sounds like u just want to get rid of the balt and are making up excuses.

Obviously you dont want to break even with this srt4 find a car worth around 5-7k for now till you build up some more income then buy an SS/TC

he might get a better deal on his monthly payments doing it this way. if sticks with the bolt hes stuck with the almost 500 payment. if he jumped into the srt4 for 10k he could prob (with ok-good credit) get it for 300 a month or so

Better yet Someone is buying the car from me
So I'll be saving even more money and I could get off this car and get into a lower payment for like a 5k car

I have been trying to get rid of the car becuase I'm paying 500 a month for it and I need all the money I can get.

Just a thought,I dont know for sure if you could even do it. but what about trying to refinance the cobalt, depending on what you owe you may get the payments low enough to keep it. Although you will be paying more in the long run. Just a thought.

What was your plan? interest? etc?

I pay $210 a month on my cobalt. That seems outrageous unless u did like a 24month plan, which would be stupid for a kid with no money.

I could refinance but since I been out of work so long and been late on the payments becuase of no cash flow (i sold everything I own) It destroyed my credit

So if I refinance I would end up paying more money.

But I looked at cars today but couldnt seem to find something that had my taste.

I looked for SRT4 (couldnt fine not one)
Civic SI (i drove it and said no really fast)
350z (no...just no)
Mustang GT (ehhh was sorta diggin it)

And thats it for today. I'm going to Daytona to check out more cars. And Orlando on Monday to check out some out there.

I was a dam SRT4! Ahh!
