You could machine the rotors, But if your going with a cheap barke setup (napa autozone or whatever) then I would deff get rotors and pads. Just my opinion

Have you looked at the Uneek rotors? There are lots of good pads out there as well, Greenstuff and Hawk for example.

I would suggest you just spend the money and get some good after-market rotors and pads. Slotted is ok, but don't get cross drilled or waste your money on cryo treatment. Cross drilled was designed for race cars to save weight, since they replace them after every race. You won't be replacing them all the time so their lower strength and tendency to crack should steer you away from them. Cryo treatment doesn't do anything except cost you money. It has been lab tested several times and there is no difference between a treated and untreated rotor tested after a little driving.

I Think TurboTech Racing has Baer rotors for $159.99 a pair? At least last week they did. Might have been someone else.

found it

if they are pulsating then the pads are not the problem. you need to check the run out of the rotors and see if they can be turned. if they havent been pulsating very long and your pads are still good then why change them? oh and if you just change the pads the rotors will just ruin your new pads if you dont turn them down or replace them.

^^^^ and if the pads still have life on them, scuff them up with a grinder so they break in again then they won't squeak.

Say someone sorta stock was to change their pads and rotors... is there a benefit to slotted rotors while being sorta stock? (Mods just being just 15" aftermarket rims and just an injen intake...)

Turning rotors means taking a certin amount of metal off of the surface of the rotor so that they are flat again. when you stomp on the brakes you heat up the rotors and in turn when metal is hot it is easy to change the shape of it. when your pads are draging on the surface of the rotor you create soft spots and create high and low spots. this is what gives you the pulsating feeling when you press the brakes. you feel the high and low spots. if you do this to much and get to low, you will not be able to turn the rotor. the more metal you take off the easyer it is to warp them again because the metal is thin. i would turn them once if there is not much pulsation. the dealership will be able to measure for you. its not a hard process. there is not really a benefit to slotted or drilled rotors if your not racing, they help cool the rotors so you dont warp them. its basicly up to you,... they dont add h.p some people might like the way they look.

the stock rotors are good enough to withstand the heat... no need for slotted and drilled rotors... just get better pads
