So whats the final word on the GM supplier discount??
I have seen people on here saying that they are getting the GMS discount and are getting $2000-$2500 off the sticker price...some go as far as saying they will get that much under invoice...I work for Lowe's and already have my GMS certificate all ready to go when my car is in...On the GMAC site awhile back you could put in all your Cobalt SS options...which mine was side air bags, power moon roof,XM radio and it gave me a total of something like $1050 off of the sticker price...the more options you get the higher the discount...the less options the lower the discount...I know a few people that got Trailblazers and other top of the line Chevys and they got $4000-$5000 off with the same GMS discount...So it looks like the more expensive the car the larger discount you get...I dont think there's alot of mark up on the Cobalt...so $1050 I seen might be right...but to the people on here that say they're getting $2500+ under invoice...you're wrong...but I wish you were right!
The GMS pricing is either supported by your dealer or it isn't. It's totally up to the dealership.
It is also not a "discount." It is a set price on the vehicle from the factory. The GMS and Supplier prices are included on the invoice.
The only way for you to tell is to ask your dealership.

Yep, gotta ask your dealer. If you pre ordered one you probably got a better chance of getting the GMS pricing. I think you will have a hard time getting one off a lot with GMS pricing with all the hype.
This will be the 5th car I have bought from my dealer. So I doubt they would trying to pull anything on a long standing customer that will definetly be buying more cars in the future.

When I preordered my SS in october I told them in the begining I have the supplier discount and they said it wont be a problem...I also got the free moon roof and XM radio from the preorder marketing GM was doing...BlueVillian you say in your follow up post that GMS and supplier price are both on the invoice...but you seperated GMS and supplier from eachother...from what I heard GMS stands for General Motors Supplier...so is GMS and supplier two differant discount programs??
The company I work for is a GM Supplier so I'm really interested in knowing what the discount is as well. In Canada, you pay 4% above the dealer cost, although the dealer may lower that at their discretion.

GM Supplier= Supplier prices (also same price as GMID)
These are 2 DIFFERENT programs, that's right GMS does not mean supplier.

GMS is available only to employees (and their family) of GM and it's affiliated companies (GMAC, dealerships, etc.)
Supplier is available to any employee (and their family) of a company that works with GM, like TYCO, or Alison, or whoever.
Supplier is also available to employees of companies that do a lot of business with GM, like UPS or Wal-Mart or the local police department even. Wachovia and Bank of America (two local banks that have recently gotten huge) also have Supplier pricing for their employees and family members.

Check the actual invoice on the vehicle. Supplier on certain vehicles may actually be more than "invoice" price, but it's different for every vehicle, so just ask to see the invoice when working with your dealer.
