Well, I'm part of your GM family now. I went from 4g63s to LSJs. haha.
I just bought a 2006 Ion Redline. It comes with comp package, only has 18k miles, and bone stock (temporarily.) One owner, non-smoker, clean carfax, full warranty.
Shes coming from California, which means its never seen a winter = no rust! She's being shipped to MA, it'll take about 2 weeks to get here.
Here are the dealership's pictures.

I've test drove a 2007 IRL and my boyfriend's 06 SS/SC. I loved it. Its no TSi, but its a fun little car! And it has the dependability that I want. I'm sick of the upkeep of a heavily modified car.
And just FYI: I didn't pay anywhere close to $15999 for it. I'm a master haggler. hahahah

If you've ever had a DSM you'd understand. I've been through two and built plenty of others. Dependability is non-existent and a stock DSM vs. a stock LSJ is a pretty close race. Sure AWD is nice but so much more maintenance to keep up and the whole drivetrain is inherently weak. Once you start modding those cars dependability drops through the floor. Also one thing you have to think of, if you buy a really good condition DSM it's going to be 10 years old or more and have a good bit of miles on it. For about 5 grand more you can buy a 06-07 LSJ with about 30k miles on it. Which one would you choose? I'd honestly like to work on a car that has less dents/dings/miles/wear and tear/years on it than a DSM. Don't get me wrong, I've still got a soft spot for those cars, but they're not getting any younger and the aftermarket parts support isn't growing. The SC/TC IS the current market's DSM.

I wanted a car I can just enjoy, without worrying.
