well i was coming home from deer park and no one was there from this site and some chick cop pulls me over on the southern state. she goes on about how i was doing over double the limit on the entrence ramp so she followed me for like 2 miles and got me doing 85 and pulled me over then she said it smells like weed in the car and i really didnt smoke or had any weed on me. then she saids im lucky that im not being arested because off my speed on the ramp. such bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!! so i got a $140 speeding ticket wow i have only had the car for like 2 months! All this and i didnt even get to talk to anyone from this site!!

i didnt even know onramps had speed limits...thats usually where i get up to 100! its so much easier to merge when you are going 10-18mph quicker than the other cars.

On ramps have speed limits?! I am pretty sure an on ramp is there to get you up to speed so you don't screw up traffic flow...but what would I know...not like I've studied traffic theory or anything.

i wud rebel the ticket..cj is rite...the ramp is to get up to speed....seriously wtf..****** li cops...i mean my buddy is one and there are just some that really dont care about pulling people over. there is a under cover cop in a camaro ss..just watch out and iknow there is one in a civic too. my friend sees all the cars that come in from repo and they just use to pull people over. the guy who drives the camaro ss is his commanding officer. u gotta play it safe in that area.

The cop was most likely calling the yellow "safe speed to turn on a curve sign" a "speed limit sign". That is really not the case... Those yellow signs are suggested speed for trucks so the driver can anticipate what is coming. Trucks weighing up to 80,000lbs tend to have higher centers of gravity and don't brake or corner as well as cars so these suggested speed for negotiating ramps are invaluable especially to a driver that may not be familiar with the location... Basically you got tagged by another wonder of modern policing, people enforcing laws they themselves don't understand... Sorry dude. +rep

right i learned that well in drivers ed... yellow means its a suggestion and usually i think about it for like 2 seconds and say **** that and do what i want

This is jokes. I got one this morning too. I droped my girl at work at Pearson Airport. Was speeding up so a taxi didnt hit me while i was on the on ramp, as soon as i let my foot off the gas aroud a small bend i see a cop with his radar. Once i saw him put it down i knew so just indicated over and stopped. lol. i was doing 80k in a 50k zone. He was pretty cool i must say. Said that because i was on airport property its nothing more than a parking fine (i.e. no points or insurance or anything gone). and he redused it to $40 when it should have been $140.

Its just simple, dont give them BS and they will be aright. What made my day is that after he handed me the ticked, he complimented me on my cars halo lights (still kinda dark so the rings and 3 leds were on) and the euro looking tails.

On ramps do have speed limits. Actually when coming off on ramps you have to yeild to the traffic. It sounds like BS, but when I come off the ramp I love checking the handling of my Cobalt, specially when the ramp says 25mph and you take it at 45-50. Love the feeling!!!!!!!

 

Here is one for I was on the bridge from VA to Del and I was booking cause there where no other cars around. I was coming off the bridge and I saw a cop on the other side coming toward me, right when I seen him turn around in the grass I told me wife he got me. So he comes up to the car all shacking and scared and **** I had my stuff already out inclueding my badge yes I am a cop. So he takes my **** and is in his car for ever so my wife is like what do you think he would say if he knew there was a gun in the car, I started loling and told her lets not find out he is already scared shitless. So he comes back to the car gives me the ticket and I ask how much, seems VA dont put the price on the ticket you have to call a number to get it so I am like yes a suprize I love them, dude still not budging so I take the ticket and call right away to pay it it was for ******* 160.00 bucks. dude said I was doing 78 in a 55 my speedo said 80 when I saw him but what ever. moral of the story **** happens and pay your tickets

My speeding ticket in the Cobalt was $448.00, and it was my first one ever.

 

I have not recieved a ticket yet, Let me repeat it YET!!!! Knock on wood. Over 100mph majority of the time on the highway in my town. I will tell you this I work for county Sheriff's department in our town I am a reserve Deputy and Some of the guys know me as being a little crazy.

I was dropping an item off to one of my deputy friends and he told me where he was going to be, so I went to meet him. There was two cruisers and they were BSing, I turned on too a wrong drive and realized it, so I hit my e-brake and did a 180 degree right in front of them. OH MY GOD!!!! at first they didn't realize it was me and they hit the lights and began to try to box me in, so for about 30 sec. I made it seem as though I was trying to ellude them. I stopped becuase I was laughing so hard I couldn't drive.
My partner in the cruiser just looked at me and said "You D--K!!!!" "You got me, you got me" I apoligized and dropped the item off. To this day he cracks me for that stunt.

 

Why did you give him your badge? He probaly didn't know what it was....
