SS = super sport
LS, LT, etc, don't have any meaning they're just model designations.
LS = base model, least amount of standard equipment
LT = base engine/transmission/suspension, but more "creature comforts" i.e. it comes standard with more upgrades than the LS

LS means Limited Sport I think. It's the base model, with very few options. Basic 2.2l naturally aspirated motor. Comes in both coupe and sedan. Usually 15" steel wheels
LT means Limited Touring. Usually the same as the base model except for power windows and locks. Same motor. There are many levels of LT though that have every option available, such as leather seats, 16" aluminum wheels, etc. This is the most versatile trim package, and has the most different forms.
SS means super sport. Fully loaded car, power everything but seats. Pioneer sound system. 2.0l turbocharged engine, 5 speed manual transmission. Sport cloth/suede seats. 18" aluminum wheels. Performance suspension.

im amazed how almost NO ONE here knows what LS and LT stand for
And I don't think anyone knows because nowhere in the cars or in the manual does it say what either one is
SS means Super Sport
LS, LT and LTZ arent short for anything, they are just trim levels, like CX, CXL, CS,Denali, Sierra, Cheyenne, Silverado, Z/28, ZR1, etc, etc......they dont mean anything they are just the name or code for a particular trim level
