Question Which SS/SC is a better choice to get? UPDATED/Picked one!

Original Post
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all, this is my first post here on cobaltss.net and will start off by saying this is an awesome site and it helped me make my decision on getting a Cobalt. I currently drive a 97 Grand Prix GT, my car is getting old and unreliable and its time I get a new car.

Alright well now down to business. I've been looking around to get a cobalt ss/sc for about 2 months now, and am definitely getting one. Right now around the area where I live there seems to be two pretty good deals and I'm curious to see what all you pro's think is the better deal for the money is.

Here is the first Balt I'm interested in, which I already test drove and everything. It runs perfect, the interior is great, but there are a few scratches that are hardly noticeable. The dealer tried to screw me over when I almost bought it but he then admitted he "rounded up" the monthly payments after I called his bs. Seriously can't trust those dealers.....

Choice 1 Link

The 2nd balt just popped up online recently so I didn't take the trip to test drive it yet or anything. Its cheaper by quite a bit and has some nice rims. Bad part its a year older and has more miles on it. Still looks very very nice though. I'm a little specious on why its so cheap as well.

Choice 2 Link

I'd appreciate it if anyone with some kind of input on this can help me out and give me their 2 sense. Thanks a lot!

UPDATE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah I finally got my Cobalt SS/SC! I'm very happy with my decision, the winner is choice 1! Awesome car, better than I thought it would be. Looks very slick and is a blast to drive. Here are some pics I just took. Thanks again for the help for those who gave it.

I'd test drive the second one before buying it, both look okay to me. If you can afford it save yourself 20,000 miles and get the 06.

get car fax reports before buying.

If your not supa mechanical, get someone that is and have them inspect the car...

From there, its choice of what you like, and price. 2005's "supposibly" have more problems, but ive been happy for 50k so dont listen to people that only rome forums for info.... GO GET IT URESELF lol

I have close to 50k on my 05 s/c still runs smooth, pulls hard, Havent replaced a part but the brakes n rotors
;-) good luck man enjoy that bitch, cause you will.

Test drive the second one....chances are its been beat on alittle...esp. since its an 05...those could be hard 50k on it...who knows. You could always go to another dealership of your choice and see if they can snag that 06 ss for ya. good luck either way.

both look good, Test drive the second one, let her rip test the clutch, see if it slips at all, pics look like there both well takin care off 50 000 miles would be why its cheaper, but thats not to bad really. take care of ur car and don't beat on it every day and any car will last forever. but u don't know what the person before did to it, so when u got to see it look over everything !!! and ask as many q's as possible.

personally i would take the black 06. then again the rims on the 05 are decent.... if thats what your goin for then u'll save even more money.

I had a black 06 and it was pretty sweet. It was debadged and had a stage 2. Awesome little car. If it was RWD I would still have it, that and if it came with a 6-8 foot bed on the back too. Oh and if it could off road a little.

yea I bought the SS/SC and then realized I really needed a truck still.

I agree. I rather have a car with low miles and taken care of. Mine has been garage kept, changed the oil 4 times already and it only has 9k miles. These other ones with links are very cheap for a reason.

wow more responses/views than i thought, but yeah my guess is the 2nd one was beaten on. I'm probably going to test drive it later this week and ask a lot of questions for sure. and R&C rallySS, that is one sexy SS/SC but its def a bit out of my price range. I'm 20 and a college student haha.

dads putting it in his name, he has excellent credit. and from 10k-12.5k its like 180/m to 230/m with the down payment i'm putting on it (2k). 250 is the absolute most I could spend a month on the car and be comfortable with everything else like food, gas, going out, etc.
