SS/SC is here!

My dealer called me today. My car is here...a month early! I am so excited now. I have watched all of you for the last 6 months get yours, and now mine is here.

I am getting it undercoated, the 3M plastic protector for the paint, need to find winter tires and wheels, and order and install the block heater and lower grill. So I probably won't take delivery for a week or two yet! Good news is there is no snow in Edmonton right now, so I may be able to use it abit after break-in if it stays nice!

I'll post some pics when I get it, in case anyone cares. Otherwise, it will look just like any other Black SS/SC with the G85.

My car will look bitchin with black steelies on!!! It will be 100% stealth!

wow...out of curiousity, when did you place the order? i'm in BC and i ordered my black w/ blue SC september 3rd and it took until january 14th just for the dealer to send me an email saying:

"we got a call from GM, your car has been "preferenced"

What the F does preferenced mean??? they haven't given me a build date or a VIN number....slowly going insane....

Ordered middle of September. Finally first week of January they accepted my order for biuld. It was supposed to be delivered in March. Guess it was biult soon after accepting the order in January to get here today.

So it took almost the same time as yours. There are too few of these in Canada! GM sold so many damb cars with emplyee discount and "ring-and-win" that they are desperate to sell one now. Thats how I think our orders were "preferenced". So, yours should be here in a week or two the way I see it!

I think "preferenced" means your car will be in line to be biult at the factory. Leave it to GM to use such a lame term! So in other words, they decided you deserve your car and they will now biuld you one! If you call your dealer, they should have a biuld date for you.

I will finally be picking it up this Tuesday! It's been a damb long wait!

The clear bra is on and looks great, although my service rep forgot to order the headlamp kit, so I have to run it out there so they can put it on!

Block heater, lower grill, undercoat, and paint protection are on. Winter wheels and steel wheelies arive tomorrow. Finally figured out the winter tire problem.

GM is pretty desperate to sell cars right now. Too many years of 0% financing and employee discount have hurt them. No one is buying a new car now! I'm sure they will make it soon, if they haven't already.

Now, If I could only get rid of all this white ****!!!!

G85 Performance Package. It includes the Quafie limited-slip differential (LSD) and the Recaro seats. The LSD makes sure you don't light up your inside tire when you are powering through a corner.

If you are going to do any road racing, or autocrossing get it! I hope to one day, and the Recaro seats are amazing in my opinion, so it was the only option on the car I had to have! Well, maybe the airbags in case I need them!

Ya, I'll get some when I pic it up for you. Can't you just go out and look at yours though??? LOL

It will be ugly though with black steelies. Too much white **** for Z-rated tires!

This car always amazes me when I see it. It is like 500 x's better looking in person. It is OK in pics, but in person it is so hot!

Yeah, I go out and look at mine all the time, it's getting boring. jk

If you got steelies, use em... I wasn't looking forward to spending a ton of cash on them this past year and was thankful that we've had such a mild winter... although driving with Z rated tires in the snow isn't as bad as one would think.

Finally picked mine up today! However, the roads are filthy, so much of that has transferred to the car. I put some crappy pictures below. I'll take some better pictures when it is all cleaned up whenever I do it. Not going to bother now, because it is going to snow again over the next few days.

This thing is nuts. How do you not get a ticket in it? You're doing like 100 Km/h, and it feels like your only going 50 Km/h! I think it is just the 260 Km/h speedo. You don't get to use 1/3 of the damb gauge within the law!

Didn't get into her much, as I am going to go easy for the first 2,000 Kms, but seems like there is lots of power there. Took it up to about 4500RPM at half throttle and was impressed. It even hauls ass uphill in 5th with no problem. Haven't been on the throttle enough to hear the supercharger whine though!

The wing is kind of annoying. I don't mind missing the rear view so much, but everytime I shoulder check to change lanes, I see the end-plate and it looks like there is a vehicle in my blindspot!

Here it is in the garage, away from the winter wonderland outside:

Not a whole lot I guess. About $1000 installed. I could have gotten crappier tires too, but decided to skimp in the wheel department instead.
