SS/SC On Hold Week of 04/25/2005

I typed "chevy 1ap37 ss coupe production news" into my IE search and got an arifleet page which I went to and it listed north american car and truck production holds. Cobalt has the SS/Sc in red as a new hold. Could Banshee or anyone else confirm this?

6-8 weeks from when??? I starting to hope the rest of the SS orders are not built in 05 model year. If this 6-8 weeks is from this week that puts the sunroofs comming in at the end of the 05 production year

I was told that my Black/Black SS/SC with Sunroof is being produced this week.
I hope there right. I'm on week 8 but they had ordered mine as stock well before that.

good site

Yea, that site is true. I called GM Canada yesterday to verify the status of my order of my Rally Yellow SS/SC with sunroof. Was told it was not built, has no build date and as of yesterday my order was on hold. Coudln't tell me why, but I already knew from the previous week from my dealership they talked to their GM Rep and said there was a problems with the sunroofs and would notify me when he found out more. Anyone else that has news on this please post. I know I ordered my SS/SC for this summer weather outside, don't want it when summer is half way done already. I'll stick to my original car I was gonna get, G6 with the panoramic sunroof

This hold tends to make sense with other things we are hearing here. My order was changed from build week of the 18 of April to the week of May 9th. I forget where but someone also posted here that the rest of the 05 SS were going to be built the week of the 9th. So taking this and your info, it seems the hold is for the production week of the 9th

I'm not planning on the end of May, looking more towards 1st to 2cd week of June. If you think about it you loose almost a week for quality assurance and vin release. I will have less than a week for shipping, depending on how long it takes to coordinate the shipments. If your's goes on a train add another 2-4 weeks to the quality assurance/vin week, total of 5-7 weeks.

I'm with arch, these things take time, you have to figure build date the week of the 9th then figure a week for the build, week for Q/A and Vin then they will sit for a bit till enough cobalts, not necessarily SS's are built to fill a truck to your area, then trucking then arrival.

so ya mid June at best

june more likely

well unless ur car gets built the very first week of May and i mean one of the first ones, the chances of you getting you car by the end of May is very slim. I've been waiting since Mid-February and still have no build date, i'm looking realistically mid - end of June, definately no end of May. Depends on how long this sunroof issue is a problem. And what's not to say in 1 week they go to build them they discover another flaw. Just gotta sit tight and be patient. Took me 2 months to do that, now i'm only bothering my dealership every other week lol Just hope I get it before July 1, going on vacation for 2 weeks and would love to drive my new SS/SC for vacation instead of my tired and old Grand Am that needs to hibernate, permanently

Hey guys/gals just got off the phone with custumer service. And again I got same answer as last week and week before, my vechile will be built week of may 9th. I call every tues for an update. And next tues she will know if there any new rebates or promos. They also told me there would be limited production of 450 vehicles for production run of 2005. And made it sound like I was lucky to be getting one. Then I asked if the 450 was just for canada and she wasn't sure? She kept apogizing for the delays. If you don't have a built date I wouldn't even know what to tell you???? I think they are almost ready for 06.

Yes, u may have been waiting longer then me, there's lot of people who pre-ordered back in sept, oct, but technically u haven't really waited much longer then me if u go by when they started producing them.

sucks you guys are having problems waiting on the Cobalt SS. I have mine and I got it only because the dealer had an extra one in stock.

http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicleloca...Id=075&x=0&y=0

There is three in stock in the state of Michigan. 2 Red, 1 Silver

Which number do you call for GM Canada Customer Service? I found two on their website:

1-800-GM-DRIVE or 1-800-263-3777

I call 1-800-263-3777, I hit option 5 and talk to service. If u have your order # they will call and find a build date for you! It usually takes 7 or 8 minutes. They will try to answer any question you have. Hope this helps.
