Anyone know how the button pods come out of the steering wheel?

Do they just pull out like the f-Bodies?

 

According to the GM Service Information Manual the buttons just pop out. Word for word this is what it tells you to do:

• Pry out the switch using a small flat-bladed tool.

• Disconnect the electrical connectors
