Unhappy Storage compartment.....

I've only had my 2007 Cobalt SS/SC for about a month and some how managed to remove the storage compartment to the left of the steering wheel on accident. There is a steel spring clip that came out with it i was able to remount the storage compartment but now it won't stay closed. can anyone tell me where that spring clip mounts? I'm sure you can see that area from under the dash. All comments & help is appreciated.

Here's a couple of pics I done with my cellphone. Sorry for the bad quality. The spring is about half way up the right side of the opening of the compartment.
