Strange clicking noise.

Recently, I've had a clicking noise coming from the front driver side above the wheel I think. It is quite audible from the outside with the hood closed, but when I open it up to see exactly where it's coming from, the sound from the engine pretty much drowns it out. I can only hear it when I'm at a complete stop and it's a very sporadic clicking, kinda like...

Click click click... click... click clickclick. .. clickclick. .. click click click...

Lol

I'm stumped.

Hello TheSuit,

I apologize for the strange noise coming from your vehicle. Have you considered taking your vehicle into your dealership to look into this further? If you would like me to contact them on your behalf, please send me a PM with your VIN, current mileage, contact info and preferred dealership. I would be happy to help!

If OP has an LNF its normal between the high pressure injectors and fuel pump I know the revolving click youre talking about isnt consistent (the consistent rapid clicking is the injectors spraying fuel)

I have an 06 ss/sc. The sound is very random because sometimes it'll start doing it and sometimes it wont, AND the sound itself has no real pattern. Also come to think of it, it's more of a "chick" noise rather than a clicking one, if that helps lol.

On an unrelated note, while I was at a Pizza Hut eating with friends today, there was a cloud burst and it poured down hard for about 10 seconds right into my open windows and open sun roof. I hate my life.

We'll if your not 100% sure it's on the drivers side then it could possibly be the timing chain tensioner which is on the passenger side. There are threads about it. If that's it then it's on a 30 part and the new style is plug and play
