Suede on interior trim?

Has anyone tried this before? Was thinking of doing black suede or if I could find the material that's on the lnf seats. The net looking material. Wondering how difficult the process of doing this is.

Can be done. Has been done. My two cents would be to opt for the faux suede as it can be washed easier.

Any ideas on the netting type stuff on the lnf seats? It would be sweet if it matched the seats that way. I'll go to a fabric store and look around.

Closest thing ive seen to the mesh fabric is on the back of my backpack lol

Id do suede dash and leave the mesh for maybe the armrest, shiftboot and oerhaos door inserts.

Wonder how well the perforated fabric will turn out if you're using the upholstery adhesive. Think the glue would ooze out the holes?

Could always glue it behind the trim piece. I was thinking it may look cool with the silver showing through a bit. I'm still on the fence About it. Saw suede trim pictures on here actually and it wasn't really my thing after all.

If you're wrapping the dash pieces, yeah it may be possible to tack it behind as they're a small surface area. I was under the assumption you were doing this to the door inserts.

Oh no no. Sorry I wasn't more clear. Just the piece around the radio, dlc fog light etc and controls for the windows locks. I saw a pic of suede on those and decided thats a no. Not the look I thought it would be. May just end up painting the damn pieces lol

The center radio bezel never looks right with a fabric wrap in my opinion, since the airbag light and stuff is there. With those contors, it looks a little off, like the fabric didn't hold in those spots. Could wrap the main dash pieces, then paint the center one whatever you like. I've entertained that idea.

Ebay my friend. Much cheaper. Going that route to do my inserts in the spring. I'll still wrap up about 50 or 70 bucks for everything but that's still cheap.

I found out about the mesh on here. There was a post about 6 years ago. There is a "Detroit book" from gm that has every cars upholstery. Id link it if I wasn't on my phone.
