Then why did he buy it in the first place lol

My car has a sunroof but I really didn't care either way when I bought it. G85 was the only must have option.

He got a steal on it, he noticed the next day after he bought it.

Yup, that's the one option I demanded when I was buying my LNF.

I just can't see selling a car because it didn't have a sunroof.

KoriCobalt 01-12-2014 10:06 AM

Mines a 2010 so it did come with the sunroof. I use it often and yes it does rattle alot now, but I don't mind it so much. If you have it, use it lol!!

Mr Mall Cop 01-12-2014 10:19 AM

I'm so happy mine does not have one after seeing all the threads on here of people having problems with theirs.

Grimsaviour 01-12-2014 06:54 PM

I try not to use mine unless its a really beautiful day and i wanna let it all hang out. I see way too many cars and upset customers that find out it can cost thousands to change the sunroof cassette in their cars once it breaks. its a nice toy that's expensive to fix

Sunroofs are a pain in the ass. My G5GT does not have one and I love it. It's also one of the reasons why I got such a good deal on the car, that and the 5 speed. sat on the dealer's lot forever, until I saw it.

Pitbull2o08 01-12-2014 07:45 PM

Anyone know proper sunroof maintainence?

YelloEye 01-12-2014 08:04 PM

I would guess it involves greasing the sunroof gasket with white lithium grease and greasing up the tracks with something slightly heavier every so often. But I don't know the official maintenance.

cluelessk 01-12-2014 08:09 PM

Most useless option on a car. Just makes ridiculous noise when driving with the Windows open.

I hate mine. It's a selling feature that no one uses after the novelty wears off.

Its a fun thing to use sometimes but in all honesty I'd rather have a dome light so i can actually see into the back seats.

well played

G5GT2007 01-12-2014 09:07 PM

I have a sunroof in my 2.4. When I drive the car is always open. I never use the ac in any of my cars i just keep the windows down and sunroof open. I dont even shut the little shade. Its been open since i bought the car.

cluelessk 01-12-2014 09:15 PM

How do you survive without A/C? Must not get too hot where you live.

He still kept it a year and a half, but in the summer here, we don't get nice weather much, so when it is nice, we like having sunroofs, T-tops and or convertibles.

Unless I get a new job soon I'll be missing out on track days :( Only made it to 2 autocross events last year.

Well hopefully we can do a meet that you can attend. Hopefully we can give you a good month notice.

Pinky Demon 01-13-2014 01:00 AM

I wish I didn't have one. They were designed poorly to fit a 25k car. They break constantly, and when open, add aerodynamic drag. Ick.

YelloEye 01-13-2014 02:13 AM

Opening a hole in your car, be it the sunroof or a window, always adds drag.
