So, who all have had their sunroof clip/trim pieces just "fall off"? ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! On my Ss/Sc!!!!!!!! I know there are 2 others there too who had the same thing happen. Hopefully its not a sign of cheesyness!

Actually, I just read in another post that they are having problems with the sunroof trim on the SS S/C. Apparently GM is holding back about 1100 SS S/C's to address the issue before they reach customers.

I'd say just take it back to the dealer and explain that it needs to be fixed with the new part. Hopefully they will be able to order one up, and have your sunroof in perfect working order again ASAP

I am going to call them tomorrow. Its the actual plastic piece around the button that opens and closes it. Kinda minor but totally cheesy.

happened to me too less than 24 hours after buying the car, talking to the dealer tomorrow. the salesman took the part, if its going to take a while, they need to give it back so i can rig it.

Yea I had this too, after reading a thread about how easy it falls off I went out and prodded mine and sure enought it came off and I could'nt get it back on, eventually I just hit it with a few dots of superglue and its better than new.

Well, so far, the same piece arrived at the dealer. Same issue. It won't clip back on. They would have to remove and replace the entire headliner! UGH! Forget it! I'll glue it back on.

Yup, mine is still f*cked as we speak. Ordered the part in once, and it broke trying to get it in. Not the biggest deal, just a little annoyance.

My clip fell off today. Looks like I'll try the superglue method. I don't want to get my entire headliner replaced!

well, i took mine in, and the sales manager told one of the mechanics to get one off another cobalt, and it wouldn't stick (after he bled on my headliner where he had a cut finger), so he had me pull into service, and the lady there couldn't get it to work, so she called over another guy and he couldn't get it to work (after he got grease on the headliner). i have an appt. tomorrow and they're going to drop down the headliner to fix it. part of me is mad that it makes the car seem cheap, but really it seems more like its just a defect, and that tends to happen in first run cars. I'd rather have an engineering problem than just cheap parts (on the interior at least).

They were going to drop my headliner too! Too much room for error! Everyone else has glued theirs, I will too! Dealer couldn't fix mine either. Just a cheap mechanism.

actually I do see a default with the mount. my passenger side doesnt have a spot for the clip to hold its self onto, just one spot for a clip on the driver side.

This is all sooooooo cheesy! They are just literally falling off! Its like everyone's looking at them now and then "BAM" they are coming off! If someone thinks of a better way than glueing, fill us in! Hhhmmmm........ I think I will send an email to GM also. Explain my disappointment. Even though its not a huge deal to them or in reality, just silly.

And then when you try to push it back in (which will never work), it pops out the on/off button for the roof!

took it to the dealer today, and they called and said they ordered me the assembly because they couldn't get it to work, when i went out to my car, all the clips were bent all to hell and the button was just hanging. i heard the service manager talk to the guy that "worked" on my car, and it was evident that he just shoved it up there and bent everything instead of taking down the headliner. they'll have to now to replace the assembly. i told them about others with the problem, and i'm trying to get them to tell me what the problem is and what gm does to fix it if anything.

GM is just plain going to have to come up with a fix. Or I'll just glue mine. Hodie!!!!!!
