Super Charged Owners Only
Just out of curiosity how is your personal driving experience with the SS SuperCharged Cobalts? How much fun do you have with it, how do you like the handling... etc and anything else you might want to add.
I've had my '06 SS/SC for just over five weeks now. For background, my last car was a built V6 Camaro (3.8L with cam, valvesprings, headers, catback, "ram air" intake, tune, 3.73 rear end, limited slip, and sway bars). And, that being said, I've had a hell of a lot more fun with my SS/SC. The Camaro handled good and was quick, but only through second gear. The SS/SC has more power throughout the entire spectrum. Plus, the SS/SC has a five speed manual, so the power is literally right at your right hand. It's quicker, handles better, lighter, newer, has many more features, and is arguably sexier than the Camaro. I wouldn't go back; I love this car.
before the balt i drove a 99 mustang gt with an SC....i loved that car, but i would throw it off a cliff for the balt any day. The balt handles like a beast, can beat almost anything in its class stock for stock...and it way too much fun to drive every day......I LOVE MY SS/SC..
yeah, an intake mod is nice, easy, and makes your car sound like a true BAD ASS in these cars....i would have to agree that the whine is half the fun....

Nice impressions, thats a good idea too posting what car you came from before coming from the Cobalt
Now for me my car I would be upgrading from would be from a 1992 V6 Buick Le Sabre lol
so just about anything I get would feel fast.
I bought my Cobalt SS/SC about 5 months ago. It is my every day driver. Had a coulple of differant types of cars in my life and I must say it is one of the best in the sense of fun. Driving hard or just chilling I always enjoy cruising to work. It is sporty, it has plenty of power and it has been very dependable. If your looking to buy one, make sure you get all the options you want because I did and I'm very pleased. This car will not be going anywhere inless, well lets not go there because I don't want my baby to ever get damaged. The car handles very well, I don't think you can find a better brand new car for the price. I also got a 6 year 75k mile, or maybe it was a 7 year. I forget, but thats pretty damn good. Hope this helps you out.
i have had my car for almost a year now and i am so impressed with the power this car makes. the handling is not comparable to anything else on the market for the price you can pick one up
Can't say enough about mine, I had an 05 v6 mustang with an automatic, and I test drove the cobalt and HAD to get one, even though I loved my mustang. Since I got the stage 2 setup, it has been much better. I just dyno'd a shade under 240 whp, and I know that it would have cost three times as much in mods to hit that number with the mustang.
If you want to see how it handles, read this...so long GTI, Si, Mustang GT

I love the car! Ill be honest, I wanted an srt-4 when I bought the balt, but now Im very happy with the balt! My only complain is I didnt get the lsd.... but thats my fault... Im saving up for it right now! its also fun to beat people and watch their faces. they see our car and the wing automatically makes them think its a ricer and its not :-)
i love my cobalt, way too much fun. my last car was a 87 supra turbo auto, and i loved it lots to but wanted something new and reliabily, my supra was old and had lots of problems so thats what made me bought the cobalt ss, it was something in my price range and after the test drive i loved it(we also have lots of snow, so i wanted awd or fwd, i couldnt afford a STI)! i first test drove to 2.4 ss with plans on putting a turbo on it, and was ready to buy it but fiqued i should test drive a ss/sc and loved it even more! i used to be a turbo guy but i love hearing that whine! this is my first fwd too and handling is great, comparable to my supra which had amazing handling. i think i would have to say this is probally the best handling fwd in stock form! good luck with whatever you get....
Cobalt SS/SC FTW!!!!!!

I have to agree the SS/SC is amazing. IMO you really can't ask for a better performance car at this price and get the power and handling we have. The only thing I have ever driven faster than this was my first car; 78 Grand Prix with an olds 455 stuffed in it pushing near 500hp backed up by a muncie 4speed. The Wife has a 5 series bmw, and personally I like driving the balt over it any day.
I love my SS/SC, the superb handling makes as many smiles as the acceleration, you can literally set the cruise control on 25mph in a residental area and swing every turn without sliding or hitting the brakes(as long as its on smooth pavement). You will be in a different world after driving the buick.
Ive had my 06 SS/SC for about three months now and I still look forward to driving it. For the longest time I was in the market for an '04 Mustang GT (the ann edition) but I couldnt grasp the idea of paying 20 g for a used car or even driving a Ford for that matter. Ive never liked Ford but have always been a fan of the mustang. Anyways, at the last minute I decided to test drive a SC balt...it was love at first sight. I had my heart set and am really happy with the choice I made. The car has a great look to it and it is really roomy for a sports car which I love because I commute 25 miles to school everyday. I love the quick throttle response and the handling is superb. My dad's helping me take my wheels off this afternoon so that I can get the wheels and calipers powder coated this week...Im so excited! I'll be posting pics real soon.
I have had my SS for 11 months now & I love it as I came from a 99 SC Tahoe that was awsome & ran like a raped ape but the gas pump was my enemy & now with the Balt I get power great looks & good MPG so it's all for the better
I do miss the Tahoe for the fact of being seen on the road & no fear of getting ran over as now with the balt I'm always watch out for that other idiot that wants to wreck me !!
I'd have to say the wing was the biggest negitive for me as I was use to seeing everything around me in the Tahoe & the wing makes a bad blind spot but now I'm use to it & have learned to just gas it so I don't have to worry about whats behind me or beside me just whats in front of me ha ha ha !
I still love driving my Balt & I use to let the Tahoe set in the garage & drive the wifes S10 on rainy days so I didn't get the truck dirty but now even on rainy days I'd rather drive the Balt than the wifes truck as I can wash it more often & still have fun driving

I absolutely love my 06 ss/sc. Before this car I had a 98 saturn sc1 with an intake and exhaust. One day I seen this 06 ss/sc sitting on the lot and I decided to stop and take a look at it. Well the look led todrooling, the drooling led to a test drive and the test drive led me to my new car.
