Supercharged 4 Bangers

I want to see more supercharged 4 bangers!!! I hate that the cobalt went Turbo!!! There is rumor that the Hyundai Genesis will get a Supercharged trim for the V6. Supercharged Honda engines are fast as ****!!! I raced a Supercharged Integra with 300 HP and it sounded amazing!!! Damn you chevy for taking away the Supercharged cobalt!!!

I'm pretty sure they went turbo because the turbo 2.0L makes 257 horsepower compared to 207 by the supercharged stock. I personally like the turbo's more as well and if you really want just slap a supercharger in there.

A company called NextGenerationMotorsports has done supercharged tiburons for awhile but now it was only the V6, until now. They are developing an I-4 kit for the 4banger tiburon's and elantra's and even a few accents with motors swaps. I also imagine they will be doing the V6 supercharger for the Genesis. You'll have to watch for those 4banger tiburons with superchargers, they could potentially give the ss/sc a run for it's money

Turbos are just have more potential, but the cobalt actually has more like 215 to 230 crank hp..... Because most dyno at least at 205 to the wheels.

turbos more or less have proven to make better horsepower on smaller 4cyl engines, i think GM made a smart move by going turbo, why do u think ppl with the LSJ have done turbo swaps?? More power baby!!

True it makes 260 vs 205 but the cobalt turbo's msrp is about a thousand dollars more correct me if I am wrong. If they increased the price of the Cobalt SS/SC by 750 or so they could offer stage 2 standard and then it would be 241 vs 260. I just think SC cobalts were unique.

Sorry, no blower for the Hyundai...base model coupe will come with - you guessed it - a 2.0l turbo 4. The v6 model will be in the 300 hp range, but will breathe naturally.

Hyundai claims it will be the cheapest 300 hp coupe on the market, and it will compete directly with the Mustang GT and Infiniti G37. In other words, you'll get a car that rides comparable to a G37, with comparable luxury features, for the cost of a Mustang GT, if not less. In theory.

The 08+ SS has VVt and direct injection, but otherwise nothing is upgraded. Still the same old cast pistons.

Just to be technical...Chevy did away with the supercharger because they said they couldn't meet the new-more-stringent Government emissions requirements.

Turbos are better in every way. They are more efficient and in turn can make more power with LESS boost. If I could (and I might) do it all over again I would have went TT on my Mustang. The only down fall is lag but if you get the right turbo(s) for your setup it will be nearly no existent.

Don't get me wrong its cool hearing the blower whine or whistle as in my case but the power a turbo car can make is nuts.

the V6 wont get supercharged if they already have a turbo on the 4 cylinder version. Hyundai has worked closely with HKS on this car and HKS doesnt do superchargers so much. If anything they would turbo the V6 but I doubt it. an aftermarket co. will probably come out with forced induction options though.
