So I recently picked up an 05 Cobalt SS/SC about a month ago, i've learned alot about these cars and am interested in them since their not something you see alot of. I'm still new to the platform and still learning, my question is how come I cant hear the supercharger whine? I can barely hear it even when im up there in the higher RPM's.


The only mods on the car is a K&N CAI and catback exhaust. I read that the cold air intake should help significantly but it doesnt. Maybe I cant hear it over the exhaust? Still shouldn't effect cabin noise from the firewall.

I know that a smaller SC pulley will help alot as well, i have plans soon to get a stage 3 kit from ZZPerformance. What can be done to make SC whine audible without hurting the car?

 

I think some whine more than others.
Some people get louder just from the stock air box mod, i could not hear any difference.
Just varies from car to car.
