Thinking about selling car but for how much.

I am coming to realize that some point I need to get out of my parents house and move out on my own and I cannot do that and keep the cobalt unfortunately. I was just wondering how much you think the car is worth.
Car has 28,000 miles on it and is a fully loaded 05. Mods are listed in signature but also has an in car dvd player. Car would be sold as is I'm thinking maybe asking for 22,000 with all the money in it.
Any opinions?

What was that trade in? I went to KBB and it said 19750 3rd party, but the car has many mods on it including recently installed stage 2 clutch, stage 2 axles, rims, brakes, suspension, exhaust, fully tuned. I think maybe I think its worth more than it is but I don't know if 22,000 is a bad starting price. Car is mint. Also my dealer has one on their lot for 22,500 used completely stock with no G85 and 30k miles.

Mods add 0 to the price and sometimes decrease it.

EDIT - Edmunds gives me..

Trade-In : 12,670
PP : 14,206
Dealer : 16,222

You'll be lucky to get 14K out of it.

the dealer has one, dealers always jack the price up....i agree 22K sounds high, mods bring the price down.

This sounds like the best idea so far because I don't exactly have to sell this minute. I just can't see selling it for less than 20K.

You won't be selling it then. Anyone would be crazy to spend 20K on an 05.

I'm looking to buy a cobalt, but 20+ k is too much for a used 05 model. For that money I could get a new 07 model.

Glock,

You just have to think about it from a buyers perspective. I like you're car a lot but if you were in the market and were comparing yours against say an 07 with 400 miles on it for the same price. Which would you go for?

Here in phoenix we have a few SS on autotrader.

2007 SS, 1400 miles : 24,999
2007 SS, 623 miles : 20,995
2006 SS, 34K miles : 18,999
2005 SS, 25K miles : 17,999

Those are dealer prices. If you really want to sell. Demod and take a hit because as everyone knows a car isn't an investment and you'll never make money on them.

You can always part it out. Trade your parts for stock parts and cash then sell the car.

You could but as of now there is no tuning for the 07 except the gm stage 2 i think. And this car is already above and beyond where most people are modifying their cobalts and that is my reasoning now we could talk in between 22 and 20 but I hold out for the car to be worth more than that because ALL THE MODS ARE DONE, this is a car for someone who wants it to be modded and race it. Plus its a first year with low milage ss s/c fully loaded with the lsd tranny.

mine hasn't sold at $16,500 with less mods and a year newer if that gives you any idea. the thing is with the mods, you have find someone who wants the car EXACTLY that way. and mods don't add to the value for anyone, especially not on cobalts. on higher end cars sometimes you can luck out, but it's still a chevy cobalt, no matter which way you slice it.

For 22,000 I'd just go buy a 2007 right off the lot and have a warranty too.

My car is warrantied at my dealer. They fixed my axles the time they snapped for free. Great service rep here.
