A 50 shot of nitrous used for purging only? I'm guessing the SC with Stage 2 was for getting through the mountains easier too.

That car has probably had a rough life but they are pretty durable. Take it for a drive if possible, feel for play/binding in steering, smoothness of tranny, that is doesn't grind going into gears, roll pin is good, clunks etc.

that's the one with LSD and the Recaro's, yes? For the price and mileage I don't think I will find one.

 

Check to see if its modified or stock
Stock Injectors = Green
Stock pulley = 3.3"
Check the PCM for stock as well.
Check for compliance with the Power Steering Recall
Check for worn out Control Arm Bushings

Other then that, all I can think of is check the tire tread wear for abnormalities, vaccume hoses...
Check to see that the IC Pump is working.

With the vehical running, open the IC Pump cap, and stick in a flat screw driver, if the pump is working it will pull the screwdriver to one side...

While driving it, rev it up past 5500 RPM..
Then check for a stiff clutch. This indicates
a failing TOB from what I understand.
