Tired wore hella quick
Hey guys,
I bought a set of Kuhmo tires last October and they are already at the wear marks. Some quick facts.
Lowered, but just barely.
Aftermarket 225/45 rims
Only mods are injen cai and exhaust.
I do not abuse my car. I've literally done about 2-4 hard starts and verrrrryyyyy rarely pull first gear.
I took the car to the tire shop who said I came just in time for my first tire rotation. Ehh, I've already rotated them about 4-5 times... The wear is even except one wheel that had a bad wheel bearing on it, which is slightly worse. The workers were snobby and expected it to be beaten or abused.. But after a thorough inspection they agreed that the tires were not abused. And they were not. I know I'm a 20 yr old kid but this car does not get driven too hard. As in no burnouts. I've only gone >105 like 3 times and no faster than 115. The most abuse is a second gear pull to about 6k.. Or drop in into 3rd at 60 to pass 1-2 cars.
They will send them to Kuhmo , to see if I'm warranted for any refund. They were suppose to last 40k I'm at 7k.
I repeat, they did not find any signs of abuse or any red flags which would indicate the incredibly fast wear.
Has anyone ever had to deal with a situation similar? What options do I have?
Thank you for every response,
Nickolas

well over inflation of the tire would just cause the tire to wear from the middle, if all tires are bad maybe it was a bad batch but if one tire was bad you should start checking your suspension components or steering components such as tie rods etc. now if all the tire seemed to be gone maybe under inflation could be your problem

I had similar tires and they wore out pretty quick. I did alot of driving tho had the car since may of last year put on about 35k in one year. Did a few road trips, had lived 48 miles from work so I traveled alot. The tires did wear on tread quick and didnt do great in water. I currently have cooper all season tires they do good in wet and dry conditions.

This is what I am hoping but I am boned, sorta..
"I don't have documented tire rotations"
Sorry I did them on my own? besides, when I came in to have the tires evaluated that was time for my FIRST tire rotation. Note I got 7000/40000 miles from these tires. NOT EVEN 25%.
I just bought 2 cooper rs3-a's to throw on the front till I get rear tires also. then they will send in the four Kuhmos to be inspected by Kuhmo.
Oh, btw they also failed to order more 225....... so now I'm riding on 215.
