Top speed per gear?

depends where your limiter is.
with 7k 1st is around 40, 2nd is around 70, 3rd is around 107.
i have different size tires so my speedo is off, but these #'s are close to what they really are.

Average for these cars, is about 38-42 1st, 68-75 second, 105-120 3rd, 135-150 4th. Nobody will top out 5th, stock redline would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 180ish. guys making that power are not on stock rev limit any more, and turning to 7600 rpms you could probably get close to 200mph in theory.
All dependant on tire size and RPM limit on the specific car in question. I've seen 150 in 4th before

going off that calculator, 35mph, 68, 101, 134, 171mph with a 6500rpm limiter (stock, or stage 1 or 2 with a 7000rpm limiter, 38, 73, 109, 145, 184mph.

I hit limiter in 4th at 7500, on a 225/45/17 tire. **** came up faster than I was expecting
Threw it in 5th and kept pulling.

My car hits 117 in 3rd and about 146 in 4th....5th tops out the speed0 easy when teasing the redline.
During my move to TX got bored on an empty OK road...this is on a full tank of gas and a LOADED DOWN, aero wing, 05 Stage2 Cobalt. Stage2 7K redline so I still had 1200RPM'S to spare. Been 160 2x before but this is the closest I got to proof. GM says top speed is aero limited at like 143 or 147 or something LOL

You're numbers are prolly the closest to what a cobalt is...5th I don't think can be topped out due to drag. These cars are not extremely aerodynamic.

Stock at 6500 it is:
First - 36 Second - 69 Third - 104 Fourth - 137 Fifth - 175
Stage 2 at 7000 it is:
First - 39 Second - 75 Third - 112 Fourth - 148 Fifth - 188

stage 2 07IRL 1ST=38 2ND=68 3RD=107(i know this cause i would trap fuel cut in third both RPM and MPH) to 108 4TH=138-140 and 5TH=140+ with ALOT or the rev band left like all most 2k... on the stock 215/45/zr17 dunlop's. god i miss my RL.. such a sleeper wingless..

Who are the cobalt owners that are taching out in every gear to answer this question? lol jk No offense to the question... but from my experience I wasnt really paying attention to first and second gears but 3rd is about 115 4th is around 140-145 and 5th ive hit 164 estimated because the needle was about an 8th inch or so passed the 160 mark and my nav recall said that my top speed reached was 164 so... by the way all the estimates are with my 2006 Cobalt SS/SC Stage 2 + K&N CAI + Custom Dyno Tune, also ive attempted this about 5 times on the same stretch of road and I might have had a tail wind because the four other time I attempted i never got passed 160.
