Trunk help

So me and StevenFlit just swapped trunks, but we couldnt figure out how to remove the trunk lock. does anyone know how to do this? I couldnt find anything on the forum...

ok real easy swap at least on my 07 but i can't see it being any different on later years.

all you need to do is pull a metal retaing clip out and the lock will pull right out give me a min and i will get you pic


pull the metal clip off that is around the lock


should end up looking like this


then just pull it out just make sure you put it back in the same way it came out


just make sure to get that arm lined up and in the hole or you will be climbing through you trunk to try and open it the really hard way

Just go to your dealer and mention you just tried opening your trunk with your key for the first time and it didnt work....

so uhh....how do you take that metal retaining clip out...i tugged on it pretty hard straight up in the position in the picture...does it pull outward? or does it push down or something? i just dont want to break it

Your not gonna break it. Just get a screwdriver and push on the end of it and it will slide off. It looks like a U. Push where the u is connected. The little hoop part. Not that hard really.

Don't think I've ever actually used a key for it, only used either the button or remote.
