Turbo Build or New SS/TC???
Having a little bit of a dilemma here. My clutch started to slip today, and I was wanting to get rid of my car when it started to go. So I was gonna get a 2009 SS/TC, my payments would be under $200 a month which is a lot cheaper than my last payments. My car now is paid off so its either get a new 09 SS/TC or just do a turbo build on my car and replace the clutch this winter. What should I do, new car or turbo build?

neither is a bad idea, but i think alot of ppl tend to forget that there is alot more to the new SS/tc than just the motor. the handling is just as impressive, if not more-so than the motor over the SS/tc IMO (i had an 05 s/c previously) . i guess its all in what you are looking for. the SS/sc can be made to do whatever you are lookin for in a car, but the SS/tc is a better starting point. if you dont care about the small car payment, then id say its probably worth it.

Ya thats the big plus about it, its brand new 24 miles on it!
Ok just test drove an 09 TC and Im not gonna lie that was by far the best car I have driven since Ive been looking at new cars. It handles so smooth and the seats r so comfortable. Now its definately hard to make a decision now. The only thing I dont like is I dont know a whole lot about the lnf. Unlike the lsj where Ive had it torn apart about 4 times I know it up and down.

like it has been mentioned above, you are 100% correct in saying that the LSj is a badass motor, a great starting point etc. but the SS/tc has alot more upseid to it than just the motor. i think the handling mightve been more impressive over my SS/sc than the motor was...amognst other things. its worth the trade up, if you have the dough

oh Ive got the money for it, money is no issue here. My payments after trade in and gm discount and rebates would be like $148 a month
Well I got what my payments would be, $216 a month for 3 years. Not bad I guess, I just think Im jumping into this too soon.

How much Hp do you want out of this? a monster or juas well into the 300's? you can always buy tc struts and shocks and get some new seats the lsj has been well into the 400's and a bit into 5's on this forum. With the new one though you have a brand new car in whiiite already has nice seats and suspension and with a good tune is over 300hp and tq and you are done

I would build what i got. Like poster above said, you can always change the suspension. The options are, spend 5-10k and build a bad ass car or spend 15k+ and have a stock car.

Well with my rebate, trade in, and gms discount I would only have to finance $6000. So its either $4300 for hahn stage 5, new clutch $1200, and internals roughly $1000 totalling $6500 OR buy a brand new car for $6000. And if I do get the new car Im not gonna go all out like I did on mine. Maybe exhaust charge piping, ya know easy bolt ons.

That's kind of a no brainer to me. The same price for the turbo swap or a new car.... I'd go for the new car lol. A turbo swapped LSJ would make great power if thats what your looking for , but if you want to stay in the 300whp range the TC is a great deal with all your rebates and trade in . I'm not going to mess with my new car too much either , just a stage kit ..if they ever show up.......or a tune.

If your talking about the build sheet i posted then here.
A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle or trailer when loaded - i.e including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue weight.
The difference between gross weight and curb weight is the total passenger and cargo weight capacity of the vehicle. For example, a pickup truck with a curb weight of 4500 pounds might have a cargo capacity of 2000 pounds, meaning it can have a gross weight of 6500 pounds when fully loaded.
