TVS vs. Hahn

So now that I know prices for both, here's the question. Should I spend $2250 on the TVS SC and $1500 on a stage 2 package, or should I dump that money into the Hahn turbo swap?

ummm...

depends for one...

and since when is a stage 2 1500?

do you like instant power or not?

Turbo can make lots of power but TVS is good and can make just as much if you get the right cooling mods.

and later down the road a twin charge would be awesome too.

never been fond of the idea of twin charging. i was guessing the stage 2 cost plus install at about that. in addition, the hahn makes power almost as fast as a SC. I dunno, the TVS is supposed to be more linear in power just like a turbo too though but the hahn will be a heavier install.

probably stage 2 clutch/axle combo? But TVS is great for maintaining the ss/sc's persona. Easy swap and very reliable. If you're goal is +/-350whp than it's a very direct route to go. Turbo will be more power, but also more complication over stock setup because of the complete reconfiguration of the f/i.

My $0.02

OK, don't take this the wrong way - but you have no idea what is going on if you want think it is possible to run GMS2 and TVS. For the TVS, you will need 60#s, tune, etc - not GMS2.

well to install a stage 2 is easy... just injectors and a pully.. both can be done in like 20 minutes.

Twin charge seems more likely to **** up but i like the idea.

Depending on how much HP you want in the long run. if you think this will be the end the a SC is fine but if you think you will keep going i say go Turbo.

also if your turbo breaks you can get a ebay turbo way cheaper than a new TVS

yeah, the TVS looks like cake to install. how much cooler are the air inlet temps?

Also a concern of mine is which is better for launch?

man you need to do some more research your killing me with your ..........

For a tvs you need 60 lb injectors and h/e and a tune you probally wont see past 270whp with that setup. You cant install gm stage 2 and a tvs together. people upgrade from a stage 2 and go with 60lb and a tvs

Ok, here you go. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2983827 Look at my mods. That's the minimum recommendations for the TVS

If your not going to utalize it to its full potential your gonna waste 2 grand. you need all the exhaust mods a good tune 60 lb injectors and cooling mods to break 300s

The TVS does not "add" it's the power adder. I guess to help you out with a comparison: My 2.6 pulley made 240whp on my local low-reader dyno. Swapping the TVS with a preliminary tune yielded 290whp on 11* timing on the first pull

Not totally true. You can break 300 w/o exhaust work and only a h/e as long as you have a good tune. I'd have been over 300whp (IMO) if I had dyno'd with my 18* timing and a few more tweaks to the tune instead of 11* and that was with stock h/dp, and 2.5" catback

What's the problem? Car is a bitch to launch and I have not recorded a new 0-60 time since adding the TVS. 0-60 isn't really important

Got $75 to donate for a dyno run? Don't think +7* timing and full 3"exhaust = atleast a 10whp gain? lol
