93 octane... last week i put in about 4 gallons of 100 octane and then topped it off with 93 and WOW the throttle response was a noticeable difference. I'll just tell you this. The car loved the mix.

that's funny because i put 3 gallons of bp 93 octane, a gallon of xylene = 99~ octane and a couple ounces of mystery oil and didn't feel a bit of difference. so four gallons of 100 octane + 9 gallons of 93 would knock it back down to 95~ octane and you had a noticable difference...

I have used nothing but premium gas in the car and my econ. went from about 15l/100km to about 10l/100km now. I'm only at about 3000kms. It costs about $40 or so to fill up the car without any discount (i.e; the petro card) and I'm geting about 450kms on a tank.

I use nothing but Sunoco Ultra 94 and it will generally cost me about $40-43 (CDN) to fill up. I'm getting 9.8l/100km's, with a little over 4500km's on the car and I would say that 4000km's of that is all highway. I'm very happy and surprised with the fuel economy so far; much, much better than my '01 GMC Jimmy (duh!).

THe SS/SC calls for at least 91;

Wait, we have a 13 gallon tank? Because my gauge seems to only read 10.(when im right about the empty the car only takes 10 gallons) which is the opposite of my camaro and cavy. Both of them and completely out of gas when the needle shows that i have an 1/8 of a tank left.

Where in gods name do you get 100 octane gasoline? I can't find anything higher than 93 octane. That **** is expensive...2.79 a gallon. They sell octane booster, but that only raises the octane like half a point.

There is a gas station here locally called Delta Sonic (car wash and gas). They only sell it at a couple locations and the 100 octane has it's own pump and is label "RACING FUEL ONLY". It was like $4.29/gal.. lol 93 octane here is at $2.74/gal..I put like $15.00 of 100 octane and $17.00 of 93 octane. The engine seemed a little happier and smooth and the gas mileage jumped to like 30-32mpg and then I started to drive it a little harder and went down to about 25mpg (that's with driving it hard all week). I dunno how to explain it.. the car just ran better IMO. I've got 4000 miles on my car and have been putting 93 in it since and this was the first I had tried 100 octane + 93. I didn't want to fill it up completely with 100 octane for 1 it would be mad expensive and I didn't want it to ruin the car if I filled it up with 100 all the way.

I hope gas goes down in price. This is getting ridiculous. Now one can't even afford to enjoy their Cobalt SS without shitting out money for gas. I remember 4 or 5 years ago gas was down to like a buck twenty five at the very most.

I use nothing but 93 oc and furthermore only name brand ie Shell. I almost always get shell I have a shell credit card that rebates 5% of whatever I spend in gas (1% everything else) automatically back to my credit card at the end of the month.

So at like 2.71 / gal I end up saving almost .14 / gal

you can make it like i did, or you can pay $5 a gallon or about that at most racing shops around your town. they usually stock up on 100 octane. i wouldn't put anything like turbo blue or racing orange in there cause it's about 108, 115+ octane IIRC.

the mix i used was:

1 gallon of xylene
3 gallons of 93 octane fuel (make sure you're about empty when you do it)
2-3 ounces of marvel mystery oil because xylene doesn't have any lubrication like fuel does.

that will put you up to 99.6 octane or 99.3 octane somehting like that. i can't remember which one

wait until you see the new gas prices. all of the oil companies are about to release a new gasoline that is going to be more expensive than it is now, but is supposed to burn much cleaner. that's why most states are getting rid of e-checks cause the new gas is so clean

Just wondering where you can get 100 octane fuel and what kind of gains you see from it?
